Wish you would install a storm shelter at JL. Maybe Lester would be willing to talk to Jason and Dutch about them, they each have a different type. The RV isn't safe in heavy storms, IMO, and one of you is there during storms. Hope it takes precedence over heat and AC for horses. ❤

I had to pause as the cattle came up to shelter to comment. I had a memory of the times Lester saying ranchers don't have shelters for their cattle. My Real comment is " Build it and they will come." Love the Longhorns will appreciate it! When they decide they want it!

I love how Jami brings calmness to things that are scary and disastersous . She's a tough little cookie.

That area certainly experiences many challenging weather issues. Gene continues to work on clean-up of an old barn from the last flood. I very much admire and respect the positive CanDo mindset. Imagine in the future if you do decide to permanently stay at the J&L that there will no longer be this mad dash to get 3 properties ready for storms. You could only focus on 2 properties instead. I think rushing around and dealing with 3 properties is adding unnecessary stress in your storm prep. I hope everyone is doing OK and it's not as bad as I'm seeing on social media.

hmmm you can put that large size saran wrap on one of the spikes you use for hay and go round and round the barn areas that it would be effective. I think they are too heavy to do manually. As for the Sanctuary, you need to build a wall of cinder block and REBAR in the blocks and dug several feet into the ground and build a double layer until it is as high as your worse flood level. A little at a time and you would be done in no time, and it will not flood the hill any more
