Ayub Khan, the President of Pakistan, whose arrival at London Airport was marred by demonstrations, on his country's conflict with India in the Rann of Kutch.
London: Claridges Hotel: CS Ayub Khan intvw SOF - (Q: "What about the news of the latest fighting in the Rann of Kutch?") "Well it's the first time I have heard of it - that there has been, according to your papers, a clash between our troops and the Indian troops. I've not got the details and so I can't really comment on it, but our orders to our troops are quite clear, they must not open fire unless they are fired upon, and so if this flare-up has taken place, it must have been unprovoked aggression from the Indian side." - (Q: "The Indians actually claimed that it was a Pakistani attack.") "Well, as I say, I don't know. It can't be an attack, why should it be an attack against orders and so on." - (Q: "Are you hoping to talk to Mr [Lal Bahadour] Shastri (Indian Prime Minister) about this dispute?") "There is nothing laid on. Mr Shastri has been going about saying he has no intention of talking to us, so should he wish to talk, I'm quite willing to talk." - (Q: "You're going to see the Prime Minister this evening, is there anything particular that you want to discuss with him?") "Well nothing in particular, except to pay my courtesy call on him and also thank him for the hand he's taken in the resolution of our Rann of Kutch problem with India. Prime Minister [Harold] Wilson has taken a lot of trouble and so has his staff, and your High Commissioner in Karachi has done a lot of good work, and I shall take the opportunity of thanking him for that."

clearly represents you dont know the other side of the coin. you saw the silver era or just got the washed off portion of the coin. I read Ayub's regime. He made a peculiar education policy such that urdu to be the only language for people who would be admitted in primary schools. High tuition fees were imposed. Number of postgraduates declined. He was an authoritarian leader. He gunned down many protesters who tried to protest his unfair policies.

@zzz I am from Bangladesh. Okay man forget us. Ur countrymen also pulled him off from power entitled him as a dog. Why? I have read the history I know that. Ayub Khan was referred even in West pakistan as dog whereas our leader sheikh mujibur Rahman also became a popular face among the ordinary people of west pakistan too and entitled him as long live sheikh mujibur Rahman. Why is that so? At that time he was an ordinary leader not even a prime minister whereas ayub khan was in power that time. Okay forget that too, miss jinnah didn't like ayub khan policies too. It was a rigged election. Do you really support the framing of miss jinnah by ayub khan? Wow man bravo. You are great

No doubt was a man from Military Background but had great qualities which gave him a place and recognition Head and Shoulders above others amongst all his Regional peers and contemporaries . He easily overshadowed them . The most unfortunate aspect was that his legacy was abandoned so soon . Those who followed him later in succession were pygmies in his presence both civilian and from the forces . He had very painstakingly given and provided solid foundation on economic and social sectors but Pakistan lost its path and is still mired in the wilderness .

The fallacy of course of action taken by Ayub Khan and Nixon/Kissinger is very evident from where Pakistan is stands today. When West Pakistan was sending reinforcement to the then east Pakistan, Ayub/Yahya forced all the foreigner to take Military planes back to Karachi (Bangkok being the obvious choice) before evacuating from Pakistan so that Pakistan can earn some hard currency. The year Bangladesh got independence there was a big humaniterion crises in Bangladesh due to a cyclone. Yahya requested Americans to provide 9 mill tonnes of wheat. Well Bengalis eat rice!

Pakistan's standing in the world today is not due to President of Pakistan - Ayub Khan's action/decisions. Rather the weakened, vulnerable leadership that has been in Pakistan since the past 20 years. As for Bangladesh. They are an Islamic country, our brothers in Islam and due to this indisputable fact. There is nothing that can overcome our resolve to treat Bangladeshis with the same respect and honor, as we would to any other Muslim country. This is despite the 1971 war and the lies told by indians. Wheat or rice, it ends up in the same place where the rest of the food we eat. So the argument you place, is hollow, holds no credible substance and is rather condescending. Which is not surprising, since you are an indian and as such, inflicted with the disease of hatred and conjecture.

Pashtoons are true Leaders, in 1919 Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan Baba resigned being a well decorated Captain in British Army and started freedom of India from British as in fact India was ruled by pashtoons Ibrahim Ludhi from Swabi but Quaid Azam joined Congress later made muslim league and made Pakistan and gave highest status to pashtoons in giving his 3 shares of wealth to pashtoons because most decorated Generals in British Army were from Charsada and Ayoub Khan was to take over from General Geacy and Quaid Azam could see that Pashtoon with all others could provide solid foundation and top well decorated Handsome administration and defence with truth for Pakistan like Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar.

Jinna (Jeenabhai) was a Gujrati hindu whose father got converted to islam. Only living child of Jinna is Dina Wadia who lives in Mumbai and is the Mom of Nusli Wadia of textile empire. After the creation of Pakistan Jinna personally called Nehru and asked him for the upkeep of his ancestral house in Mumbai as he wanted to retire there and live his final days in India. Even the people who created Pakistan did not expect Pakistan to survive for long. Google Jinna family tree and check Wikipedia.

Quaid-e-Azam, MUHAMMAD ALI JINNAH, was a Muslim. That is all that matters to us Pakistanis, nothing more. Every human is born a Muslim, it is up to that individual, to seek out the truth and whom so ever endevours for the truth, shall find it. As such, there are no "converts" in Islam, rather they have reverted back to the faith in the ONE GOD, due to their thirst for the truth. The lack of intellectual acumen, is bare evident in your hastily typed posts. Your ignorance proceeds you in whatever you fumble out of your mouth. This is the curse you live with, simply because you have no substance in your heart. You are blinded by the hatred that feeds on you like a parasite. Your hatred is not founded in Pakistan, or Muslims, rather within yourself and your psyche. Pakistan is here to stay and has been for the past 67 years. Whether you like or you don't. Whether you are comfortable with it or you are not. This is the reality which remains and shall remain, till the end of time. Empires rise and fall, superpowers succumb under their own weight. Neither category does Pakistan belong to. This country was built on one single principle, that there is no God but Allah Subhanaho Wata'aalah and Muhammad Alaihi Assalaat-u-Wassalam is last and final Prophet of Allah Subhanaho Wata'aalah. The enemies of truth, squirm, squabble, bicker, plot and scheme however much they want. In the end, TRUTH vanquishes falsehood. Pakistan has fought and survived by the Grace of Allah Subhanaho Wata'aalah, the Soviet Union. Pakistan has fought and survived by the Grace of Allah Subhanaho Wata'aalah, three wars against hindustan. And most recently, Pakistan has successfully thwarted and survived by the Grace of Allah Subhanaho Wata'aalah, 12 years of American occupation of Afghanistan, drone attacks, espionage, sabotage, terrorism and corrupt rulers. Pakistan is here to stay. So why don't you run along and bark somewhere else!

Dizasta767 If it is the ONE GOD you believe in, why do the Shias and Sunnis kill each other? Why do you have guys from ISIS killing your muslim brothers in Iraq? Why don't you have peace within Pakistan? And when you say Pakistan is here to stay, you better know it is only a part of Pakistan which is still here (remember 1971?) It's only time when Pakistan collapses from within without any war.
@aksharshah8687
@aksharshah8687 9 жыл бұрын
Dizasta767 If only your definition of being a Muslim would've been accepted by other Muslim brothers but they don't, do they? Your comparison of Aksai Chin and PoK with Bangladesh is out of context. East Pakistan was entirely an existential crisis that Pakistan faced from within, if they (East Pakistanis) wouldn't have been treated so badly by the West Pakistan, there wouldn't be a Bangladesh today. You say you hold no ill-will against our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters. But peaceful people like you are very few in your community and only a few good men have been keeping Pakistan alive. The Quaid-e-Azam wanted a state where Muslims would enjoy the majority but then he also wanted it to be secular. The very idea of being adamant to ask for a "secular" but with a Muslim majority (or ANY community for that matter) is ironical. Like it or not but what Pakistan is today is not what he had envisioned while finding this "Land of Pure" and things are just getting worse.

Akshar Shah Oh and I suppose that you are well versed with the 2 billion Muslims on this planet? Most are occupied with their local disputes. Others are substantially sitting on the fence, since they are attempting to appease the superpowers. So sure, Muslims don’t have a single, operative, mission statement. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t accept the general understanding about what ISIS, BOKO, TTP & etc represent. And when it is convenient, Bangladesh is the dismembered limb of Pakistan. But when it comes to india, then Gilgit-Baltistan and Aksai Chin are not? Also, india was 100% involved in stirring up the Mukti Bahini. Meaning, they meddled with the internal affairs of a sovereign nation. So I dunno what planet you are really living on, but if China’s war 1962 and Pakistan’s war 1965, were to have been a collaborative effort. Today, you indians would not have any part of Kashmir!!!!! So think again, before putting forth senseless arguments. You do know that you are sounding more and more like a hypocrite than anything else! Plus, generally speaking, Indians are not really too bright when it comes to matters on International Relations, Geo-Political Stratagem and other subjects of that nature. Of course, Pakistan today is NOT what Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisaged. But that does not mean that it would not ever be. Since its inception, Pakistan has faced dire circumstances, which threatened it’s very existence. But six decades later and one can clearly see the resilience of the people of Pakistan. Today, one can witness the birth pangs of a true revolution taking shape in Pakistan. With the Great and the Real Khan, leading the charge to annihilate corruption, and corrupt politicians, and corrupt bureaucracy. Also, Pakistan is steadily and with ruthless determination, destroying the TTP, one district at a time. When Pakistan Military can help its ally, Sri Lanka win its 25 year old war against tamil-terrorists. Then TTP will not be so much a challenge to decimate, Insha-Allah!!!
