Anderson Cooper of CNN AC 360 talks about African Americans returning home to Ghana. He interviews Seestah IMAHKUS owner of One Africa Guest House (www.oneafricaghana.com) a few miles from Cape Coast & Elmina Dungeons. IMAHKUS is from NYC and has been living in Ghana for almost 20 years and love the tropical life. Ghana is one of the most incredible places in Africa and the world. You have to be there to experience the experience of a lifetime. Visit our website www.africafortheafricans.org for information on tours to Ghana and other historical countries in Africa.
Family please support our Go Fund me so we can build an African Diaspora Village to help our people to come home to Africa.

Yes my sister, they suffered so much, you can still see their fingers crawling the stone walls at the condemn dungeons in the Ghana castles and you can see broken teeth as they gnash their teeth, since there is no windows they suffocate before they die and is a horrible death.

I was 10years old when I visited the Cape coast slave castle. I'm Ghanaian and as a kid, I felt some very strange emotions. Something way too strong, I couldn't till this day explain. Listen, even if you never knew that slavery ever existed, the pain, the hurt, the cruelty will hit you right in the face when you step foot in those dungeons. The spirits of our common ancestors are very present in there. May God take away the pain of slavery.

For those who can read this post. Commenting on an earlier post, I would like to ask the following: 1 - Should the U.S give African Americans a "free" DNA test that allows us to locate our west Africa region of origin, using an African-American Company? If you think so, please like this message and if I get enough likes, Ill draft the legislation. Thanks.

On another video, the guide for the tourists in Ghana stated this important truth, “United WE stand, divided WE fall,”. that was another reason for the slave trade. Then he read a promise that the people of Ghana have written because of their part in the trade. It was powerful. We must learn from our mistakes. ❤️ . I love Africa. I always have and plan to go one day. It’s like my spirit YEARNS to go there.

@chimarathon Most of the blacks that were shipped away from the West Coast of Africa ended in the U.S. But, the ones that landed in South America, especially in Brazil were those from Central and Southern Africa like Angola. That explains why the U.S. is for the most part pointed at when talking about slavery from the west coast of Africa like Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, Cameroon, Guinea etc. I liked your reaction, though. it is smart.

One of the reasons Africa is behind is, during the slave capturing, a village will be raided and all the strong men and women captured leaving only the old people and children to start over. This process is repeated for over 400 years. Most of the people that could have help in the development of their home either ended up at the bottom of the sea or in a foreign land as SLAVES. The traumatised children left at home has no one to teach them the ways of life and how to protect themselves.

The saddest part is when babies were separated from their mothers and travel separated other babies born in ships. Then walked in chains to another dungeon in South America and then to North America. I can not imagine the cry and blood of these babies with no clothes no water and not the right to get sick. I imagine many babies have flue and pneumonia and with no mother cos they were put in another dungeon. This is beyond evil. Some people think that children were left behind that is not true. Children were slaved since 5 years old and branded with hot fire.

It depend where you go to be spoted as Black American in Africa. Why do you think African American are so deferrent? Most African American looks African than the African. Anybody that goes to the villeges, can be spoted as from outside from that area based on the types of tribes that lives there. When TZA city people go to the villeges, they also get spoted as from outside. This happens throughout the whole contenent. Most African Americans still need to explore Africa for the next generation.

The word 'OBRONI' means a white man, in the akan or twi language. This word is also applied to all black people Ghanaians who have come from Europe, Arican-Americans, Jamaicans and all people of African descent not residing in Ghana. Even, l and my brothers who have been out of Ghana for a long time but still have large number of family and relatives in Ghana are called obroni when we visit. They took it really hard for morking there religion and culture. Take it look at the pop how he dreases, or your preachers how they dreses. It is African culture. When Imahkus came to Ghana with her husband One Africa in 1987 ask her who hosted her? and has she ever mentioned that for over 4 years, they stayed free at my Uncle, Isaac Cole's residence.(Zero Cos, No rent,no nothing paid - just happy to see our bretheren coming home). Fast forward, after One Africa - her husband's death, this woman is now charging other African Americans and other Africans coming home large sums of money, just to host them on her Land and Property. Next time you meet Imahkus, ask her who gave her the land she now has her house on? My uncle's property share the same wall as hers. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kJx9atWg2Zu9fpc.html. Laud Marcus , I caught that too! 🤨🤔💭 I wondered why she chose that line of business? 😳 To say “Come Over” and then charge me out the wazoo?? Didn’t sit right with me. I think she just saw financial opportunities in Tourism, and that’s the real reason her & her (now deceased) husband relocated. Their empire has grown and now she applied and was given citizenship. She may have been drawn to Ghana, but I believe she wanted the culture and the enrichment that came with it! 💰💵💴💶

Not all African American from Ghana. That was just the major shipments and for dealer Arabs to make there money from the business partners European. I lought when people say Africans sold there own people. Who told you that, your own slave master and your converted church. Did you know, in Tanzania we hard war with the missionary bring religions that marked our culture? Our African preasts chieves rejected those religions. Maybe those are the prisoners you talking about.

I heard slave trader paid rival tribes to capture and turn over their enemies. They did wat tell they would be offshore or else they would not comply. Maybe that's why they built the jail with door leading to the coast on the other side.

➧ why do people still believe in that lie!! a. foreign currency is worthless. b . foreign goods show guilty of associations. c: Europeans only came with ' germs ,chaos & violence. Even now THAT IS THE ONLY THING THEY TRADE IN ➧ no matter who you are.. when a stranger comes in your neighborhood = and you are NOT ok with that.. MUCH LESS HELP THEM. ➧ war next door IS THE WAR soon to come to YOUR front door. Europeans had no money or goods: THAT WHY = AFRICA | ASIA | AMERICANS did not trade with them. #ever 2: they also had no technology- the Arabs gave them the compass +the Chinese gun.. in order to leave Europe for the open sea. ROBBERY was always the motive. >>> the people who help them had nothing to lose or are foreigners themselves.

cinnamonstar808 From what I know: Moors are Jews hiding their nationality which they despised because it was a burden to them. Then many became muslims through intense persecution like the Jews slaved in America and the ones in what use to be Guinea. Muslims burnt libraries during the wars muhammed waged on colonized catholic kingdoms. This is what they so-called dark ages, saying nothing was written about it. Also there are conspiracies in history to hide nationalities and geneologies.

I can safely say Moors are descendants from Jacob and most likely Judah, Benjamin, Levi the tribes to flee into through Egypt. This before Islam, during Roman rule.

Africom go home, Foreign bases out of Africa AFRICOM GO HOME : No Foreign Bases in Africa is shot within the context of the fiftieth anniversary of the "Independence" of African states (OAS 1963-2013). It's an anti-propaganda, not-for-profit film dedicated to raising public consciousness by opening up a space for discussion and building a sound information base drawn from archival records. This documentary represents my views, and my views alone, on geopolitical challenges to both Africa and the wider world. The contents of this film can in no way be ascribed to GRILA or any of its members. It addresses Africa's leaders, all PanAfricanists, internationalist and especially the African Youth caught up in the maelstrom of Africa's place in the world. AFRICOM GO HOME illuminates a vision of freedom that comes down from the mothers and fathers of panAfricanism. This documentary takes a personal look at how events have evolved in the wake of the signing of the declaration "AFRICOM Go Home" by fifty or so organizations from Africa and Germany that are united in their opposition to the presence of AFRICOM on either African or German soil. The film is a combination of images filmed or taken off the WEB . However, the authors of those images are in no way responsible for the production or point of view of this film. This video helps us to understand events arising out of the "AFRICOM Go Home" Declaration and what has been achieved since then. It shines a spotlight on the history and evolution of imperialistic, neocolonial military forces within Africa over the last fifty years. It unpacks AFRICOM and how it came into existence, what it means and provides a way of interpreting imperialist rivalries and ambitions on the continent, including why they spy on each other and exposing the contradictions that have surfaced in the "fight against terrorism". It articulates disbelief in claims of humanitarian goals by those who established AFRICOM for Africa after building a whole network of bases stretching as far as Germany. It explores contradictions that also arise between Africans and within African organizations as they try to defend themselves within a context of conflicts tied to the pillage of their resources and the appropriation of their ancestral lands. It examines the urgent need for panAfrican and internationalist resistance as well as the re-politicization of our Youth for future democracy. The film follows President Obama when he visits Germany and Africa, highlighting the attitudes of various European, American and African presidents as well as AFRICOM's military chiefs. There is also footage on some of the men and women who make up the opposition. It takes stock of security policies on the continent, paying special attention to the influence of American neoconservatives and how regional power blocs are already putting some of their policies into practice. AFRICOM GO HOME exposes the machinations of both imperialism and neo-colonialism and shows how they operate to coopt our elites and military leaders as well as civil society organizations. It paints a picture of the damage to which Africans are exposed when these bases take up residence in their midst. Clearly, our local elites are no less responsible than their foreign bosses for has evolved. The film urges all parties to review of those bases already cached on the African continent or encircling it as well as NATO's position, the vulnerability and tutelage of the African Union and the presence of a ravenous pack of emerging nations under the rubric of BRIC. By way of explanation, this video mounts a hypothesis that takes note of the repatriation of Germany's gold which had long been held captive by the US, France and the UK; the now dominant position of China in the global monetary system as well as the reasons why the base was launched so precipitously in Germany. It then goes on to provide reasons for the crisis unfolding in Mali. This film unveils the AFRICOM base in Germany before the eyes of the world. In doing so, it also draws special attention to the heroic efforts of members of the public and parliamentary representatives belonging to the Linke Party and acknowledges their court action against AFRICOM's drone strikes and targeted killings. Beyond the security question, this video demonstrates that the crisis in capitalism as well as endemic under-development are fertile ground for culturalism, integrationism, populism and terrorism which are tools that can both create divisions across the continent and abort sovereignty. AFRICOM and NATO have concocted formulas that they claim will protect Africa. However, this film is an appeal for more self-determination and balance in Africa's development. It calls for the reemergence of progressive wings of African states as well as a plan for accelerating panAfrican integration within the context of internationalism and a polycentric world that upholds all of humanity's common "good".
