Mastering is the last step of the audio production process to make adjustments that affect your entire audio mix. This is your chance to do this like make moves that impact the overall EQ, saturation, compression, and perceived loudness.
In this Studio One tutorial, Joe Gilder explains how mastering works inside Studio One. What makes it different? And, why might it be the best DAW to master your productions? Let's check it out.

As far as mastering I do believe this is the best one,, keep in mind, you can go into a regular blank session, bring your WAV file in for each song, and hybrid mix through pipeline with your Hardware
@johnisrael5183
@johnisrael5183 2 жыл бұрын
And I believe you can use pipeline in this session as well to once you get everything together and you want to export out and loop everything through your Hardware before it goes out

I want to start experimenting with StudioOne so, question, how do I bring the audio tracks from Mixcraft to StudioOne? When I save the files as a folder, it gives me the audio files into that folder. I have a feeling this is where I'm going to get my audio tracks to import into StudioOne. Please advise. Manny

When sending file(s) from the song page into the project page: is there a way to send more files from the same song into the project page? Totally agree....got Studio One and couldn't believe there was no automation in the Mastering page. It never even occurred to me that a DAW in 2020 wouldn't have automation! Basically makes it unusable in any real world. You're better off opening up a 'Song' page and mastering in there. I actually left Studio One because of this...asked PreSonus about it and they said they had no plans to include automation in the mastering page. Shame, nice DAW otherwise but not usable until they get automation going.

For me, mastering is the final stage in which all the songs in the project (think Album) should be at or near the same volume levels so the entire Album or collection of songs add to the vibe of the Album. To me that means that all the songs blend together like all the singers in a choir.. Yes, one song may be stronger and seemingly louder than the others, but the listener should never have to reach for the EQ or volume knobs of their player for almost each song. For me, the only place to get the song to near perfection is the mixing stage then go to the Project page to blend their overall sounds to each other.

I dont try to master alot. After bouncing, I'll pull a little mud out, cut some rumble, and maybe band limit with Weiss. Using a Karacter Cube, I'll configure it to put harmonics into the signal and thats about it. When mixing, I'll run the track through the Dangerous D/A so I dont do it again at the mastering stage. It makes it so easy to flip back and forth for changes that you didnt notice in the mixing phase.

In 4.6, have any of you noticed that when you update the song mastering file from the song page, it does not reflect those changes in the project page? I did not notice this before as any changes I made to the song were subtle. To check if your song changes are being reflected in the project page, try lowering the faders of any track or the master fader significantly in the song page, update the song mastering file, then check the song in the project page. I have been able to duplicate this on an iMac High Sierra and Mojave and new PC Windows 10. Reverting back to 4.5 solved the problem. I believe it's a bug and not my setup because others are reporting this issue too.
