As much as I had respect for Gio as a player and wanted him to succeed as our manager, I believe the board missed a trick by not offering Michael Beale the job when Stevie G left. We all knew his influence on the team as head coach, and Mr Gerrard himself said it would take him 10 or 20 years to be as good a coach as Michael. After all, how many teams had Sir Walter managed when he took over the job when Souness left?

I like the way he talks. He is very confident and driven.

He knows this current squad isn’t as strong as it was 6 months ago you can see the wry smile and the way he says “it’s different” 🤣… however, he’ll have them coached to within an inch of their life both in and out of possession which will hopefully improve performances and then naturally results will come too.. let’s be honest he’s inheriting a shambles in terms of player fitness and confidence, he’s not a miracle worker so we can’t expect too much of him too quickly, let’s see how he gets the squad playing from now until the end of the season and judge him properly after a couple of transfer windows where he hopefully gets backed to get players HE WANTS in the door.

Mick will do great for us love his coaching and as he says we do have a strong sqaud and we are not broken we stick together and and it will come as WATP.

I like Beales enthusiasm towards the drought of performance in a squad he knows are capable of more,hopefully he brings back the spark of life in terms if players WANTING to perform. If he is given a decent budget(we can always hope for a massive bung but lets be realistic) he will focus on our defensive gap with some people wanting to earn a place even just in the door,and will give a bit of fire back into the boys that have been lacklustre recently. I cant hate on Gio,but Mick has been around nearly all these boys and made them into the players they have become,then tapered off...i know he will be bringing a regimen players know and have done well under,so hopefully he can bring the lads back to wanting to be the rangers he coached to being high standard,high performance squad players who push for everything. I hope he makes light of the excelling performance of B team players and has the first team on their toes to keep their places. I know he will be looking to bring in youth when possible,Lowery will be pushing some out unless they press for a role,which is great,as mick must have had a hand in gettin young alex a game,so really its all to play for in the squad,defence mostly. January will be a big showing of his experience,we need some hard,stable CBs on a budget,if he can provide them and they are durable,he’ll have shown he’s capable of atleast covering a big hole weve lacked this year. Weve youth that could feature in mid/forwrd roles,but if he was able to bring in some backups,he could cement his role if we can challenge for top spot. Right now,we are a 1st placed team that has been missing fire,passion,and about 12 players via injury. Mick could atleast get us back to being fit,players wanting to come in/others revitalised/challenging. We have a bit of hope,as much of a diehard gers man as i am,gio never had the fire. He would wander the touchline looking confused,there was no anger,shouting at players,no passion towards “his” tactics,he go and sit on the bench. As a rangers man,id never sit down if i was given that job...never...unless asked to,you live and die with the team,on the touchline until youve won the game

I’m just hoping to see slow progress this season tbh and hopefully get one of the cups. This guy will need patience from the support because he’s not got a magic wand and Celtic over the next few years will be a very difficult club to compete with as they’re financially stronger and 9 times out of 10 that wins the league between the old firm. I hate to admit but they are basically the Bayern Munich of Scotland and will continue to win the majority of leagues and domestic trophies until rangers can close the financial gap and get recruitment and the player trading model going strong on a regular basis. Beale got one hell of a job on his hands because imo that lot are stronger in every position now. Total clear out needed over the next few windows.

I dont think Stevie G was much of a coach. Left it all to Beale to do the hard yards with the squad. There's no Europe this season as a distraction. He can focus on making them a success domestically.
