Speks and reds are gonna love that thing. I’d fish that under a popping cork down here in Louisiana.

I use a lot of two part epoxy, building rods. Like you, I am a little ocd about some things, bubbles are one of them. I have found the best shaped stirrer to be, an elongated teardrop. I snap the bristle end off those cheap little plastic kids artists brushes, and remove the aluminum housing….that gives you a nice rounded stir stick that tapers up to your hand. Using the pointed back end of those brushes that taper Down, into almost a point, seem to pull air in and creates far more bubbles than using an upward tapered stirrer. Anything uniform….flat, round, square,etc…seem to pull air in. Anyway that is my personal observation after, what feels like, hundreds of hours stirring and degassing epoxy. You may have an instrument at NASA that reads the bubble ratio, in a mixer, but….the previous owners of my house and garage, apparently didn’t think that that was a worthwhile, enough, selling point, to install one. ….so observation is all I have 🙄

I find a 1/4 inch stainless steel round rod really limits the bubbles too. In the video, I wasn't trying too hard. I wanted the pot to do the work.

I can’t be the only one who always thinks of that one scene in finding nemo if I hear or read the word bubbles The scene with the treasure chest opening and bubbles coming out and then the fish yelling:”MY BUBBLES”😅

Nice! Thank you for answering my question, happy to see that even thin lips work and now I don't have to worry since the one on my lure is really bulky from factory, it's just how they make them.

I know I'm sad and it really doesn't matter, but I kind of wish you'd do your voice edits in the workshop so it sounds less weird. Always love the content though, as ever

Thanks Franco, When you mix resin the first time as test you said: "do not mix with a wood stick, use steel or plastic", why? Thanks so much again

I bet you could make a nice lipless crankbait with this technique. A clear, silent, lipless crank would be awesome for the spooky trout in the gin clear water I fish.

I'd like to know if it's possible to make a diy version of Berkley Gulp saltwater soft plastics if you have molds. The biodegradable part and the scent might be too hard.
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler 11 ай бұрын
casting the soft plastic is the easy part. I often soak my normal soft plastics in "gulp juice". I'm not saying its exactly the same but it definitely stinks up the bait.
