the worst of hodinkee for me now is its audience. no other watch channel has such a pouting comment section and it feels like a this point its just the default stance to take towards hodinkee productions...and I dont see how they could come out of it

Would've been great if the video showed bits of Nico reacting to the ENTIRE video instead of beginning 30mins, because most of the moments were towards the end, like when they put the minute repeater chime in between and the story behind Kikuchi Nakagawa and then talking about AP concepts and then casually agreeing on buying an AP concept like it's a candy.

I think also, when it comes to customisations, there is a difference when it’s “Ed Sheehan’s” watch that he wore at a certain concert etc. It’s not going to loose value as Ed Sheehan’s custom watch.

Appreciate the reaction video , I did enjoy the full length talk , thought it was very special to see some unique pieces , wish you spoke about the Japanese watches he got for his daughters rather than the Pateks, appreciate you not going on a rant about hublot and keeping it relevant. John did talk a lot but I don’t think he can help it cause he’s so passionate about it , personally I’d love the video to be three hours and listen to John Mayer talk watches , he’s next level. Overall great video Nico , educational as always , came out learning something new , I learned I’m broke and not living on the moon 😂😂

Hey Nico, I know you've said that if you haven't heard from your AD in three weeks, you're not on their radar for a Rolex (paraphrased)...I gotta say you're on point. While it did take just over two months to get my hands on a new no-date sub, I got a call around the three-week mark letting me know he hadn't forgotten me and was working the issue. It restored my confidence in this particular AD. The other AD I've bought from in the past, I'm afraid, is just jerking my chain. Great video, by the way, Cheers!

i am exceptionally lucky enough to own a PP Golden Ellipse (Was gifted) and a Sub (Ref 5513). This video is beyond insane and really goes to show how perspectives can be skewed. Nico is right, this is entirely another level literally nobody else can begin relate to. Had me feeling like a bum the whole vid despite the fact i know im extremely fortunate in what i myself own.

@@mogumoguokayu1418 My Grandfather, we are both really into watch collecting, but he had no idea about the servicing process (in 40 years he had never serviced a single one of his watches) and so I accompanied him to PP to make sure it was all done properly. It's an older model from the 2000's so it was a pricey service, and took a literal year but when it was done he just gave it to me. Like I said, I'm just extremely lucky and fortunate. It's a really cool watch tbh, pretty simple mechanically but it has an extremely rare two tone dial. Got the original box and papers with it too.

I think part of the reason that the hodinkee video is so cool is that you see peiple who are widely respected and deserving of their successes diving into the world of patek minute repeaters and piece unique AP's etc. Usually you would never want to hear the ultra rich douche talk who owns it but when its john mayer and ed sheeran it's more digestable.
