@KevinDeal I'd like to see a video comparing the whole EVO line, like 400 integrated versus 200/300 preamp + amp, for people considering different upgrade paths

I just bought one of these 10 days ago, received it 4 days ago. Out of the box, this thing is built solid and refined. The tubes are partially burned in at the factory so they can match them. As a result, the sound out of the box is very, very good. The sound stage is also very, very good. I am looking forward to many hours of listening pleasure. Definitely worth the money. It out performs pre-amps costing thousands more dollars. I spoke to 2 different sales guys, one about this and the other guy about a streamer and a DAC. Both were very helpful, not pushy, and patient with my questions. I like their in home testing/audition policy. If you don't love it, you can return it for a full refund (you pay for shipping).

A stepped attenuator volume control like the one in gryphon amplifiers are even better sounding

Probably Paul did not like him saying how products made in Boulder, Colorado have printed circuit boards made in China. So they removed that part and reuploaded the video.

Curious just what parts you think are made in the USA? Metalwork? Transformers? PCB's? Relays? Switches? Volume control? Carboard packing? I have been consistent on my position on this forever, regardless of brand. Only in Hi-End audio do manufacturers play so fast and loose with country of origin, and the government should hold their feet to the fire. It already happened with Tara Labs when they got in trouble. End users that think that made in USA sticker means quality should instead use Google Images and compare part by part and get something for your money.

How does this Evo 300 compare to the dialogue premium preamp? I have that with a pair of dialogue premium hp amps. I was curious if I would notice much of a difference between the two. I don't really need any balanced inputs so the Evo 400 doesn't intrigue that much for the extra money.

How does the pre+amp combo compare with the integrated? Is it worth it getting the combo for twice the price rather than the integrated?

With separates, you have 4 power supplies, you are truly dual mono in the pre amp and the amps. The EVO 300 pre amp is a true dual mono design and it is fantastic. Separate power supplies equal better dynamics and generally better overall sound experiences. If you have good enough speakers, then the separates will generally provide a better soundstage as well. Separates generally sound better when you can place the amps close to the speakers and minimize the speaker cable length. It is better to use a longer interconnect and shorter speaker cable than it is to run 2 or 3 meters of speaker cable.
