Sonically, the ultra-linear sound is intended to be generally clean, bright, sharp, punchy sound while the triode sound is intended to be smooth, sweet, mellow, natural sound.

Wiring is beautiful and the layout is very smart ! Adaptive auto bias to a big plus when using tubes...

Hi, I currently own a used PrimaLuna DiaLogue Two. I am thinking about upgrading. I learned that the EVO 100 is the 3rd generation of my unit. IDK for an extra $1,000. If it's worth it. The EVO 200, is $1,600. more than my used unit. I am confident that the EVO 200 will be a better overall performer than my current model. But I'm wondering if the new EVO 100 will provide an 'appreciable difference' in sound performance Both the new EVO 100 & 200 come with an amazing headphone amp which my current model doesn't have & that costs money. Any thoughts regarding the costs of these products vs their Performances? Thanks!

Had both EVO 400 amp and pre on demo, really enjoyed them, big sound stage with silky smooth sound. Sorry Kevin, but I don't think I'll ever invest in any PrimaLuna products if they're being made in China. Nothing wrong with the quality, it's just a change in my attitude towards our reliance of China, especially after the global devastation of COVID-19. :(

Hi guys, can please someone tell me how can I can compare the watts in Pimaluna amplifier vs non-tube amplifiers? In the specs I read 70 o 42 watts... I own focal aria 936 speakers. Thanks a lot!

I bought the integrated Prologue Premium HP about a year ago running Focal 926's. And it has no problem driving them. Get one if you can!

Can this run the b&w 804 D4 on its own, does it need two of these or not powerful enough?

You really are going to have to listen for yourself but I suspect that you will need some more power for those bad boys. 804 Nominal impedence is 8 ohms but can drop as low as 3. Also the B&W recommended minimum is 50W so you’re kinda on the limit already. That’s not to say you can’t pre-out from the primaluna to some nice power amp or mono blocks and have your cake and eat it. If you can spend 14K on a pair of speakers then you can afford to do a little research and find a dealer who will give you better advice than me.

Might I ask all of you ... I am very new to this equipment. This PrimaLuna integrated does not have a bass, treble, or a midrange knob. I have noticed that some tube amps have these knobs and other tube amps do not. Is this purely a design choice by PrimaLuna? Is it a cost cutting decision? Is there any type of consensus as to which is better (knobs or no knobs)? Thanks!

A lot of high-end equipment is like that, they don't have tone controls, because according to them it alters the sound that they were trying to create. I like tone controls myself, as it allows me to reduce bass on very dark speakers, or decrease treble on a very bright set of speakers!

Is "Tape Out" the same as Pre Out?

No. A tape out is fixed and a pre out is variable.

also boyuu has a swich for toiode and ul swich you can change when amp is on boyuu mt88 is the best sounding tube amp for 750 us and for 529.80 mt34mk11 is on amazon 35 watts per channel has everythink myour amp is but better no remote but both mode dony get rip off primaluna take my challenge boyuu mt88mk11 750 us start selling boyuu tube amps boyuurange series

I agree with you, these Chinese companies are making great equipment at an affordable price, no bull like all these so called high end manufacturers! They use all kind of bull, to attract deep pocket buyers. How would you like your tube preamp, wrapped in honey dijon paint made in Sweden, with freshly baked connector made of clay made in Italy and baking soda made capacitors made in Japan! ;))
