Justin, I have tried using my webcam to go live on youtube with not success at all!! I had no idea that I had to download a software. I've watched a dozen of videos on how to go live on YT and not one tutorial helped me at ALL!!! The best and I mean the best tutorial that I've seen on KZfaq! Thank you so much!

i went through 20 plus tutorials where each one had some part missing or the order not quite building up but rather back and forth through all features of OBS - so thanks finally for this one. To us around here it is the first tutorial after many others that seems very good for beginners, building from the bottom up, no rush, everything explained by its practicality - for us a relief: many thanks!! As someone that hasn't done any type of capturing on pc or streaming, this is by far the best video I have found. I know there are a lot out there but I have no idea what I am doing. You broke it down and showed it step by step. I'm not done watching the video but you have my sub and I will be checking out your other videos to learn more. Was browsing KZfaq just to figure out how to start YouTubing and specifically using OBS. Well three vids in this is the best one so far and very detailed in me learning all the screen setup in the software. I’ll have to even revisit and rewatch this vid again so I understand everything. It never goes to say if you make a tutorial explain it properly so a new person can understand and know how to use the thing your explaining and this was explained in detail I needed and will help me on my first video. But you got me as a new subscriber.

Today was my cousins birthday, and he was turning 18, he was on his computer, he showed me he was a streamer, a small one, and showed me all the needed programs for the stream (including OBS and some others I think). Thanks. I needed this for one of my jobs where we need to record virtual tours. I wasn’t liking the idea of holding my cellphone up and recording a screen for an hour. Plus with this I can do so much more than just screen capturing.

I agree. I have been searching for a good video that don't just tell you something here and there and without all the stupid stuff in the middle lol. This is by far the best video I have found. Just need to know a little more. I will keep searching his videos to see if maybe he teaches the screen record, and if you can record a section of the screen. I am new to Linux and have to learn all new software after dumping windows.

Best instructions! And you can crop the scene (like if you want your image in the corner to be square to take less space) by holding ALT when adjusting the border.

This is a great beginner tutorial. I had to learn by trial and error which obviously takes longer so if you're new to OBS, follow these instructions and that's all you need to get started!!

I am a beginner to OBS so this video has been super helpful Justin, thank you. I am trying to record a tutorial demonstrating how to use an online ordering website. I am using a highlight for my cursor. When I play back my video I can see the cursor but it doesn't record the highlight. I downloaded the cursor highlighter from Microsoft. Is there a setting I am missing?

please, will you share how to make a video that I uploaded on youtube a week ago, go live. i understand that you may pull a pre recorded video from your desktop files, and allow it to go live, but I will like to have a video that is already on my channel, go live. i welcome all enlightenment, please help. i am using the obs software.

yo Justin, it's just my luck that I watched your tutorial first, no waste of time for me I landed in the right place :) All clear and understood, it's a pleasure following your explications. I opened OBS next to Chrome and paused every now and then to check what you were showing, directly in OBS. I just upgraded to OBS 27.1.3 and everything corresponds :). I'm a musician and sound engineer and mixing tutor on Ableton and I know nothing of video sizes, rates etc so I'll watch this again when I want to stream and I'll try to get lucky with the video settings ahahahah! I'll carefully check that page you have referenced and will try to make sense of it. But I really just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the cockles of your heart for being top and going straight to the point :) :) :) I guess this is the only tutorial I'll ever need. Thanks again!!
