First of all, I’m older now, so I have an awesome contractor guy who we’ve had for about 15 years, do my stuff around the house. He and his brother in law work together. I never worry about anything they’re doing in my home, because they go the extra mile, always. They do kitchens, bathrooms, basements, most everything except brick laying or roofs. Justin is one of the greatest guys on this earth. They know my garage code, and I trust them, totally. They even met me at my house when I brought my husband home from the hospital , and carried him in the house in his wheelchair, because he had a leg amputation, and they came to his memorial service when he passed away. Im so sorry you had to go through this hiccup to learn a hard lesson. You guys have been working so hard on your beautiful home, and it shows. I had pretty much the same experience a long time ago, when I just finished painting all the doors and woodwork in my hall and foyer. The wallpaper guy we hired said he could come sooner then he thought. I asked him if it would be ok, cause I just finished painting. He said yes, and I believed him. Well, it wasn’t ok. I sat down and cried after he left, because he ruined all my paint job, and I had to do it all over again. Sorry for the long text, but there are good people and bad people in this crazy world. Im glad you were able to fix it, and your room turned out beautiful. 👍🏻

Never, never, ever… no matter what… allow someone to do a job in your house - without being present ➖ without references ➖ without a contract (signed by both parties) ➖ never pay in FULL until the work is completely done per said contract.

Your room turned out so beautiful!Oh my gosh, my heart broke for you! We’ve always done all of our home improvements and I’ve been so proud of both of you getting in there and doing everything you have. You have officially scared me to death. We had a tree come down through our roof and ceiling into our living/dining room. We are now older and can’t do everything ourselves. During the repair, we had a friend who is in the business come put up wall molding that I have been dreaming of having. He pointed out that the painter does all prep work including all of the caulking of the sides and the wood filler where the joints meet. We do not know this painter and be a of your warning of what can happen!

KENZIE!!!!!! YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND NAILED IT! I love everything about this room. You have some very affordable finds that don't look affordable. It's extremely cozy, which is what a bedroom should be. And...spray that bed frame and headboard with fabric protector! With all the animals in your house, somebody will track a muddy paw print across that at some point. And if you eat or drink in bed....well I can't without spilling. It will save your heart when you see it, knowing you can just wipe it off. 😍 Your room looks warm and cozy and just beautiful!

This is my first time watching one of your videos so take this as a buffet but please don’t ever feel like you have to deal with anxiety and depression for a long time. I dealt with that personally after my two kids and I decided to take a deeper look into why I could be feeling that way for so long(I didn’t want to be on meds forever and I knew it wasn’t normal for me to feel that way) and it ended up being my hormones were so low on the chart that I basically wasn’t functioning normally and that’s why I was feeling things so aggressively up or down. Obviously talk to your doctor because there can be rare cases where it is clinical depression but listen to your body too!! I share in hoping to give you a little hope! Your room turned out beautifully ❤

Short story, I worked in a small business, a crew was hired to paint the inside evenings and weekends. The contractor had a key, evidently one of the actual painters copied his key, and began living in an upstairs portion of the office!

Yo Special K…..What do I think of the makeover? Awesome!!!!! I love the rug, the color palate, barn door and the rustic cozy feel. Now as to the painters…..guuurrrrrllll. Now you know better than that Special K. Sounds like Nick would have settled it much diff though 😂😂😂. I mean the good thing is that you guys learned from this experience and you and Nick are the Pros at this type of stuff. It could have been a lot worse. I hate to say it but its just like every other youtubers style now.....white oak or some light wood with neutral everything. For once Id like to see someone do something different. Im not saying it doesnt look nice, its just the same as everyone else! Also I would try that bench at the end of the bed under the side wall window.
