Using “we” language is actually really beneficial for children, it makes them feel less like they’re alone. It also helps teachers and other adults solve problems alongside the student rather than addressing students themselves as the problem

Ironically, literally nothing about this teacher and what she said is wrong at all. It should be the parents job to encourage the the kids to practice good behavior and habits, there's a terrible expectation from parents that teachers will have the time to spend teaching every kid they teach these basic concepts. Like it's a good skit, but it's also like...exactly the way this situation does in fact need to be handled by pulling the parent aside and addressing the issues their child needs to work on with their help at home. It's not even a parody lol.

I couldn’t agree more, as a teaching assistant to primary school teachers (I’m working part time as a uni student atm)- I’m watching my country’s education system suffer from children who aren’t taught enough at home ): it’s awful. (Just wanted to add your comment is fantastically phrased, resonated with me quite a lot 😅)

It's often parents that feel like these skills are taught later on and not from the beginning. Sorry folks, but kids aren't just squishy little morons, they pick so much up just from day-to-day stuff, and by the time parents decide its time to start these things, the habits are already there. We are raising the future adults, it's from day one, as silly as that may sound. We can still have lots of fun and be doing age-appropriate things, but still, be instilling good skills too.

Only in certain circumstances, though. Kids also need to learn that they don't have to yield something they're entitled to have by choice, simply because someone else wants some too. This pen example isn't one of those instances, though! You're done with it, hand it over! :L

As a nursery teacher. For sure your talking to a parent that doesn’t discipline their kid at all and this is a continuing issue. But I wouldn’t talk to a parent That I know is trying their best. And sadly school teachers should no better. Not that it’s an excuse right but some kids are in the process of getting diagnosed with autism or on the spectrum. My kid has no issue sharing but he has other traits on the spectrum which btw being unable to share is one. But yeah of course loads of other stuff that can be too like being an only child or parents not teaching their kids shit. But we also need to have more patience for some children that are possibly on the spectrum. Because once they are diagnosed then we better understand how to help them. The school my little one and his nephew went to, they were horrible to my nephew who was in the middle of getting diagnosed. They went private and got an ADHD diagnosis which within two weeks the school was asking for him to stop all medication because they couldn’t handle him. Medication takes time to settle in. And they most certainly are not doctors. Anyway. I get this video is a joke and I found it funny but I also think that this is actually a bigger problem that needs foxed

@EnglishVirgo

@@sancochita7392 Start from the very beginning and by 3 and 4, the concept is there. You can usually tell which ones come from a home where it is taught early and when its not. I worked with children from 4 to 11 years old and you really can have 4 year olds with awesome sharing skills, because its been taught to them from very early on. It's never too soon to instil these things into children as just a part of their world.
