Do you think the Welsh have been ‘side-lined’ more than the Scots?? And do you think under the fearsome Edward 1 wanting to conquer both Wales and Scotland that the Welsh AND Scottish nobles were equally violent, or one more than the other? I’ve read many books on both (I’m 82 so have read a lot) and am just horrified that the Welsh under various Llewelyns (!) just battled for castle after castle after castle…..just killing constantly……both fellow Welsh and the English; and the same with the Scots, clan fighting clan constantly with no compunction in killing each other. Wow you’ve just got to Joan Beaufort Queen of Scots! A very violent woman! I love the Beaufort ‘story’ (I’ve got your book) simply because I read ‘Katherine’ by Anya Seton when I was 16! Tho I utterly loathe Margaret Beaufort, and am convinced she ordered the murder of the princes in the tower. A very, very clever, tho I think evil, woman. As bad as Margaret of Anjou. Strange that two Joan Beaufort’s from John of Gaunt and Katherine, were Queens of Scotland. Richard…….WHY kill Hastings in such a ‘unethical’ way??? Strawberries? Really!!? Henry V11’s legacy….I agree. I happen-chanced on this video…..I’m at present in book 7, so in the middle of a 19 book series on Llewelyn ap Gryfudd. Do you know he did not die at Cilmeri !! Fantasy, but fascinating. 1. Lambert Simbel, yes! I think both imposters, sadly. Poor Margaret of York, Duchess of Burgundy I think was deceived. 2. Not her father, but Margaret Beaufort! Why do you say she was not a dour woman? She was appalling! 3. We loved Snowdonia, camped and holidays there for years when children small. 4. The letter of Henry V11 ! How did it get back to England if it was to the king of France! 5. Polydor Virgil more truthful than Sir Thomas More? who certainly twisted facts! 6. Your secret…..yes the Welsh Tudors!! One of them is in my 19 books!! In 1282. Can’t follow you as I don’t do social media. Excellent talk! Thank you!
