Kenneth Herring left the scene of a crash after colliding his truck with another vehicle and little did he know, a bystander was hot on his tail. Hannah Payne took it upon herself to be a vigilante and chase down Herring as he fled the scene in confusion. After blocking Herring’s truck, an armed Payne confronted him, even after police told her to stand down. Find out what happened to Payne and Herring on this episode of “Prime Crime with Jesse Weber.”

I watched the courtroom footage, including witness testimony. The defense lawyer repeatedly tried to discredit witnesses by playing "gotcha" with incredibly minute and somewhat irrelevant details. One was quizzing exactly how many feet the front of her car was vs. the victim's car, another was him making an eyewitness who was forced off the road by Hannah's speeding sound prejudice because she phoned a friend and said "some crazy b***h" forced he off the road. But the claim that the victim pulled the trigger on a gun pointed at himself claim is nuts. The likelihood of that, especially after all else that had gone down, is extremely remote.

the correctional officer ONLY told her to get the tag, NOT to chase or detain him. the 911 operator told her AT LEAST twice that i heard to STOP following him. she took it upon herself to ignore what she was told several times, so she deserves the sentence she was given. i would be terrified of her if she had become a cop because she clearly cannot follow directions and lets her emotions control her actions. yes, at first the correctional officer made the observation that the man could have been intoxicated, but later realized it could be a serious medical condition instead. but she overstepped and the poor guy lost his life over it.

The jury absolutely got it right with the verdict in this case. She refused to listen to the 911 operator multiple times when they told her not to chase him, not to go after him. She then took it upon herself to play cop &did her version of a pit maneuver by going around his truck to cut him off causing his truck to run into her jeep to stop him from going anywhere. She also chose to bring a gun with her. A gun that she loaded prior to aggressively approaching his truck & screamed at him to "get the fk out if your truck" multiple times &told him she has a gun & says "I'll fk'n shoot you, stop" twice before she actually followed through with that threat. She had no right to chase after him when she was told to stop 4 different times. She had no business cutting off his veh. in order to stop him from going anywhere. And she had absolutely no business loading a gun before approaching him, as he sat in his own veh unarmed, while she screams& curses at him before threatening him. She told him that she'd shoot him & thats exactly what she did. She wanted to be a cop& decided to play like she was one & that poor man lost his life because of her actions. She deserves to be in prison for what she did. Im so sorry for him & his family for what she did. They are in my thoughts &prayers. I hope that in time, his family finds some sense of justice in her being found guilty by the jury& sentenced to prison.

Be honest, It's more than age. Plenty of 21 year olds never would have responded the way that she did because they aren't depraved like her. It's not age at all but rather a pre-existing mindset and perceptions of people that resulted in her escalating things the way that she did to commit murder... Let's not ignore this or pretend that it isn't a factor. Age isn't a factor that's why she's in prison where she belongs now. Citing her age is like making excuses or allowances that would warrant the outcome as a possibility simply because of her age.

She stuck a gun inside his truck. What a fool. Thats how he was able to grab her gun. Police officers don't even stick their gun inside suspects' cars.

Agreed. If he is sitting in his car, with the door closed, and was able to "grab" her, then she was clearly too close.

Even if she thought she’d somehow been deputized to get his plate number, once she got the plate number, her task was complete. There was no reason to try to apprehend him. I mean, if he HAD gotten out of his car at her command, what was she going to do???

My grandfather had a stroke while driving and got in an accident. He hit a school bus but thankfully no one was hurt. This story breaks my heart.

If she grew up around firearms she damn well knows you never point a loaded weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot. That simple fact alone means she never should have even introduced a firearm into this situation.

She was itching for a chance to use her gun. She deliberately loaded it before brandishing it. Also, ALL gun safety classes teach not to draw your gun unless you are prepared to use it. No gun safety instructor would tell her it's ok to draw just for fun, as long as your finger is not on the trigger.

Hi there, where I live, guns just aren't legal, the only people I see with guns are Police & the odd farm/station owner. It must be terrifying to never know who has a gun & when it's going to be used. I'm an RN & went to work in a large hospital in Boston about 20yrs ago for 15mths - I saw lots of gunshot victims but since coming home have never seen another. This case, to me, reeks of unconscious bias - would she have reacted this way if that man had looked like her father? Just wondering. Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

@@AncestorArchaeologist-ce4mf by her own admission, she'd never taken a gun safety course. She " grew up around guns and police officers... did target practice..."

At 4:18 the narrator says "Payne called again," just as the officers are about to pass the big billboard on the left side of the road that says "1411-PAIN"... The timing was perfect😂👍🏼
