I was gonna go Rogue because they nade in America and has good quality but i been hesitant because they don't give a good pulley system. I didn't care about the price. But after watching this video I see this company got it figured out. I'm buying the one on the right now. Thank you so much

Hey Prime! If you guys can make a lever arm attachment so you can roll a bench up and do some leverage bench press, incline and shoulder press for guys like me who need leverage for over head stuff.. then you will take this over the top. Also would work for shrugs, dips etc

Assembled the selectorized rack solo Thursday evening. First workout with it last night. Couldn't be happier. Was surprised it's smaller than my rogue RML-690 rack. That'll take some getting used to..... but that's more of a mental thing than anything else. Only suggestion I'd make..... for the premium price - there's an awful lot of branded stickers on this thing. I'd say ease off the stickers and laser cut the Prime "P" on the stack guards. Then maybe just 2 smaller laser cut "P"s on the uprights or something. If you still want to showcase the lime/ neon green as your color just swap out the black rubber end caps on the plate storage pegs for green rubber end caps. Or include a green pull up bar. Oh.... I guess that's something I'd change too. The pull up bar mine came with is definitely a fatty bar. Definitely not standard size. That's fine, and I can live with it, but the standard diameter pull up bar is a better option and more versatile. If you want to use a fat pull up bar with a standard bar.... just use fat gripz. With solely a fat bar you're stuck with just a fat bar. I'm guessing the front uprights/ slides for the functional trainer carriages don't have 1 inch holes for better operation of said carriages. I get that. This is pure suggestion, but maybe add another upright for the center back of the rack. This is solely so I can keep the step up platform and dip station affixed to the rack and don't have to constantly shuffle things around. At the very least it would be a good storage option. I see you have a horizontal bar for storage pollution available I'm just not sure how well that would work. Your guys' dip station and especially the step up platform are built like tanks and the prime dip station makes the Rogue matador feel like plastic in comparison. (Really don't mean to shit on rogue. I love their shit. Primes hlp selectorized rack is just something I've pictured in my head for years as the ideal rack setup because of how ridiculously versatile it is.... and IT IS). Prime does offer upgraded 2.0 j cups that are more in line with sandwich j cups..... but honestly I think the original j cups it comes with is all you'll need. While the cup part where the bar rests has 0 protection for your bar and it'll be resting on metal, the back side that it's up against the upright has like 1/4-3/8 inch thick plastic. So when you go to re rack on bench or squat and you slam it back to the j cup.... it'll be protected..... just lower it that 1 inch or so into the rests with care if you're worried about bar damage...... but I never understood that. The only area on a barbell that'll be damaged - if damaged - is the area where it rests in the j cup......... soooooo your hand will never be there....... so why care about the condition of the knurling on your bar there? Main thing though..... would've liked to seen less stickers and more.... "premium" styled branding. And if that's my major "complaint"... I can live with it. Stellar rack. Definitely NOT for the noobie to lifting crowd. I would not recommend spending north of 7 grand like I did for the rack+attachments if you don't already religiously lift 5 - or like I do - 6 days a week (and when work/ life causes you to miss a workout you literally get bummed out) consistently. Even for seasoned lifters the price may be too offputting. But I can tell you if you bite the bullet and pull the trigger..... you'll be happy. The floor space saving alone is worth it imo. I now have space to add more specialized machines if I want to like a leg press/ hack squat machine or a seated leg curl machine..... or maybe a pec deck/ reverse flye machine.

Great video! I can’t decide between the selectorized rack or the functional trainer. What are the big differences between the two, and why would someone choose one over the other? Thx

The biggest difference between the two keeping it simple would be one you can do free weight exercises on and the other you can not. Feel free to email info@primefitnessusa.com with additional questions and discussion.

Not knowing what you're working out goals are I'll drop my two cents anyways. As a dude who lifts for both strength and size (imo they go hand in hand.... I mean you don't see any slender but strong strongmen in competition) I went with the selectorized rack. I currently have a rogue RML-690 (I think that's what it's called.... the 6 post monster lite rack) and then a HOIST fitness high-mid- low pulley machine in my garage. I personally prefer free weight work but there's no denying machines - be them cable or plate loaded - definitely have their pros too. I chose the selectorized prodigy rack.... mainly because I already shuffle enough plates around during a workout..... so I chose the stack for convenience/.... I'm lazy, Haha. As for why i opted for the selectorized rack instead of a functional trainer (to replace my high mid low hoist machine) - because most functional trainers are solely the adjustable pulley. Meaning for lat pulldowns and seated rows - which you can do on a functional trainer - you'll be getting that 2:1 or 4:1 ratio. With most functional trainers not even sniffing at a 350 lb stack (more like 200lb stacks... 250 if you're lucky) that means you'll max out on a 100-125 lb lat pulldown. I'm a 205 lb dude.... I can do that with 1 arm. And that's for a 2:1 ratio functional trainer. If you get a 4:1 ratio functional trainer you'll only be able to do a 50-62.5 lb pulldown or low row. I didn't check out prime's functional trainer but if it comes with 350 stacks that's only a 150-175 lb max on either of those movements on a 2:1 ratio. This selectorized rack or plate loaded rack though comes with a fixed high pulley which I'm pretty sure is at a 1:1 ratio. Meaning you'll be able to do a 350lb pulldown.... if you can. You'll be stuck with a 2:1 Low/ seated row.... but you can't win all the battles. A 175 lb low row should be good enough for me...... or I can Jerry rig a bar where I can attach both stacks to it and put a 4x4 across the bottom of the rack. Utilizing both stacks for a low row meaning I could pull 350 lbs. Long story short - I got the prodigy selectorized rack to consolidate everything i want in one machine. Freeing up space in my garage.... likely for more future purchases (like a leg press.... and/or ghd). I get the perks of a rack to do free weight bench and squats. I got a fixed high pulley to do pulldowns. I effectively have a functional trainer to do isolation work. Point being the rack version combines like 3-4 pieces of usually LARGE equipment into 1 piece of LARGE equipment. If I went with a functional trainer..... I'd keep my RML690 rack. Doing squats with spotter arms is going to be an adjustment since I've always done them in the security of a full rack with safety straps but..... I can't recall the last time i actually failed on a squat lift so it's more of a mental thing. Like moving to a new place and sleeping in a new bedroom kind of vibe. I'll get used to it. So yeah. Space saving and the fact that the rack variety is more versatile and provides more functions... so to speak... than just the functional trainer. The functional trainer - you're limited to solely cable work.... unless you already have a rack. But.... if you have a rack and want the versatility a functional trainer provides - why not combine the two and replace your rack and get the functional trainer with one of these HLP racks? I'm sure it costs more than the functional trainer but not that much. Also figure you'd be selling your rack so.... that should offset the costlier hlp rack over the functional trainer. Now in today's insane mentality world I'm going to sound "sexist" here for a minute. I'm assuming from the name and pic you're a chick. ASSUMING you're not into crazy serious lifting for strength and size and just workout to stay in shape you can probably be extremely happy with just a functional trainer. They're awesome machines. Also.... if you don't already have a rack you likely don't have a barbell and free weights..... you'd have to buy those to get the most out of the HLP racks. Personally. I'd only say one would "need" one if these HLP racks if they've been lifting heavy for a few years and they want to consolidate some if their equipment. Or, they want to supplement their big 3 lifts with the versatility a functional trainer offers because they don't have ANY cable machines at their disposal. If you're just a casual lifter though looking to stay in shape and aren't lifting anything crazy...... you could do squats and bench presses on a functional trainer with the proper handle with cable attachments on both ends. I like my free weight squats and bench pressing though.... and overhead pressing for that matter. If none of that interests you though - go for the functional trainer.

What is the overall actual height increase when adding on the 5” extension? Most garage ceilings are 108”...

From a quote I got. From standard height of the pull up, it can be adjusted up 10”,12.5”,15”,and 17.5”. The height of the top fixed pulley can be adjusted up 5” or 10” up from standard. The height of the post will always remain at 108 ¼”.

Base for the selectorized is $5500. I ordered mine at the end of June and will finally get it this upcoming week - late September. I'm excited as hell. This thing is consolidating a few pieces of equipment I have in my garage which will free up space (likely for more equipment.... it's a disease, Haha). I stress "base" for the price. I added attachments I wanted (that will replace what I currently have) which jacked the purchase price including shipping (which is painful to look at.... which I just did again.... it's a gut punch in shipping costs.... and I live in Indiana.... not to terribly far from PA)...... to about $7500. Yeah. You might be throwing your keyboard or phone in disgust reading that, Haha. I too probably would be laughing and shaking my head at a price like that 4 years ago or so. But think of it this way. If you have a quality rack from, say, Rogue.... that's 2 grand minimum right there after shipping. If not at least 1500. A QUALITY high low pulley machine will run you another $1000+ if not $2k. I think the likes of rogue and sorinex have high low pulley machines that go for north of 2 grand. And it's combining a functional trainer into the mix. A quality functional trainer will run you easily 2 grand. In total that's about $6,000. So 7500.... not too terrible all things considered. Do you NEED a prime hlp rack? No. But if you are a serious and consistent lifter who's been doing it for years - selling what you got (which softens the financial blow considerably) to consolidate it all into ONE piece of equipment..... worth it. 0 regrets.... and it hasn't even arrived at my doorstep yet (only another 4 days or so..... can't wait). My RML 690 rack from rogue. My high-mid-low pulley machine from Hoist fitness are being replaced by this thing. Together those 2 pieces of equipment ran me about $3500 if memory serves. So it's like I'm buying a $4000 functional trainer. Pricey.... but worth it. Factor in I'm going to be selling those 2 pieces of equipment for about $2500-3000 (both brands hold value extremely well.... probably could get my $3500 back if I wanted to) it's really only going to cost me about $4500-5000. There are people out there who dump that kind of money on treadmills.... TREADMILLS. just go run outside - it's free..... I'll never understand the treadmill market. It's like the #1 selling piece of fitness equipment. Running can be done literally for free..... aside from the cost of good shoes I guess. An effective cost of $4500 for a piece of strength equipment I've always pictured in my head and yearned for - which is what prime is offering - not too shabby IMO.
