Hi, any updates on this tank? Any problems with the shorter tank? I'm thinking of keeping this species as my first African cichlid tank. I have a 40B tank and thinking a species only tank with 3 males to 4 females ratio with a bristle nose or two. Not into breeding but I heard this ratio and number is good for peaceful tank. Thank you for any help/response.

This is the route im going jason. In a 60 gallon tank how many males/females would you do for this species?thanks
@PrimeTimeAquatics

You could probably do maybe three males and six females? Just keep an eye on them. Mine have worked out just fine, but some people have had aggression issues.

How do you do your tds and ph? I notice that it is digital.

Yes, I have digital meters for both. I believe I have the links for what I use in the pH video and possibly water hardness videos I did?

They are a little more orange than yellow. Not quite red zebra color in person, but certainly not yellow lab yellow either.

Sorry, I've been an aquarist for 44 years, I love mbunas but I have to be honest: Your hardscape is completely wrong. Mbunas live better in a higher hardscape, without rocky caves made like a house with 2 walls and a roof ... even worse when these artificial houses are stacked. High Hardscape decreases the aggressiveness of the fish because the dominant male does not have a complete view of the tank and can't see the dominated males all time. And without artificial caves they not need to fight for them.
