First time responder. My dad had Duplitron contractual disease way back when I was a kid. In both hands. Much worse than yours looks. One of his hands was basically a claw. He couldn't open it all the way up, even if he pounded it, palm down, on a table. They did the surgery, he did the physical therapy rehab. Fixed both of his hands (one at a time) right up, and that was the 80s. I'm SURE that what they do now is much more sophisticated. I know you are worried, and I probably would be too. But they've been fixing this for years, and I'm sure you'll be fine. Dad was. Like I said, I have never commented here until now, but I wanted to share that with you, maybe reassure you a little. Keep up the good work!

The bit here where you talk about "you don't do your research" beforehand. That's one of the things I like MOST about your channel. You're coming at it from the angle of musicianship and technique without preconceptions, helping your listeners gain a greater appreciation for the tracks... And at the same time, your listeners can come back at you with more information about their favourite bands, helping to increase your knowledge and appreciation. It's a wonderful thing. The internet (and KZfaq especially) can sometimes be so full of bitterness and hatred and contention. Seeing people come together in a free-flow exchange of ideas that's a pure expression of about love (whether it's the love of music or the love of your favourite band) makes this a genuine oasis on the net. That's a special thing.

Love that you're exploring Primus. They have a highly varied catalogue. I'd love to suggest Fisticuffs from The Brown Album. The mix on the whole album is like none other. Lots of great songs to choose from. Happy anniversary! Been watching from the start, love what you do.

I finally got to see Primus in 2018 (in Australia). I’m a bass player and was stoked to see Les. Bought the vip tix to get in early and stood right in front. He was, as expected, awesome. However, my mate and I were totally blown away by Ler on guitar. We knew he was awesome and under appreciated but he is every bit as talented and innovative as Les.

Les Claypool is not only employing the finger tap technique on this track, but he is doing it simultaneously with both hands! He's play two bass parts at the same time. I'm surprised Gib didn't pickup on that.

I was 19 back in 1990, working at this tiny, alternative radio station in Idaho (KUOI), building the first version of their music database. I was a hick who knew nothing but thrash and pop. One day, the station's music director pulled me into the staff room, and said, "Listen to this." He put on Primus' "Suck on This" on vinyl, just up from L.A. My face just split into a huge grin and, like the sturgeon Claypool loved angling for in the rivers nearby, I was hooked. Primus changed everything for me, got me listening to stuff I never would've before. Fish on.

I discovered this song in highschool and at the time I was listening to a lot of nu metal and other heavy stuff. what floored me was the realization that it was a heavy song because of the bass and not the guitars so much. pretty cool

I gotta come back with my Streetlight Manifesto suggestion. Amazing band in terms of composition skills. Insane drummer. 4-person brass section. Deep lyrics. Passionate songwriters. Subtle nuances throughout their music. They’ve got it all. I gotta recommend the Song _With Any Sort of Certainty._ They have a few heavier songs that arguably cross the border into metal, and this is one of them.

Love what you do, man. Primus has always been a favorite of mine, and several bands you've done videos on are near and dear to my heart. However, you (to my knowledge) haven't covered my favorite band of all time: Thee Oh Sees (Or Ohsees and OCS from time to time). Their early career is a masterclass in psychedelic garage rock, but have expanded to heavy psych, and almost a psych-metal in recent years. I could recommend dozens of songs, but I would recommend "The Dream" as a starter, as its a damn near perfect psychedelic jam, but "Gelatinous Cube" and "I Come From the Mountain" are also very indicative of their sound. Love your channel, bro. Peace 😎

Primus is awesome. My favorite band I have ever come across. Les Claypool also has a lot of abstract side projects. They are currently on a tribute tour that does Rush like no other band could, as well as 1.5+ hours of Primus greatest hits. Absolutely fantastic tour, the best I have been too.

First video of you I've seen. Dig it. Keep it up. But yeah, Les Claypool is essentially an Immortal posing as a human. Spend an hour or so on KZfaq watching Primus videos. I'm 44yo and grew up on them, and they're still around. 🖤
