oooh this is a deep track. Love this whole EP. first time they had "original" drummer Herb back on drums after Brian "Brain" Mantia played with them for a few albums. I say "original" because Primus fans know Herb is their 3rd drummer actually, but the OG most associate Primus with.

Please, please check out Colonel Claypool’s Flying Frog Brigade. You mentioned combining visual and sonic art… this is Les and his crowning achievement. These guys get freaky. The albums Live Frogs 1 and Live Frogs 2 are tremendous. This is a version of Primus from the early 80’s when they were called Primate or Sausage or some nonsense. Live Frogs 1 disk is some cool covers and old Sausage songs. Live Frogs 2 is Pink Floyd’s Animals album from start to finish. “Shattering Song” and “Running the Gauntlet” are fantastic from disk 1 and disk 2 deserves a long play on its own. Aloha

South Park just celebrated their 25th Anniversary so that was '97. You should check out the South Park You Tube channel if you don't have Paramount plus to see the Red Rocks show celebrating 25 years of SP with Primus and Ween and great songs from the show along with an appearance by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. Primus has been covering Rush's 'A Farewell To Kings' album the last year during second set and they finally joined them for "Closer to the Heart". Les toured in California this month under 'Bastard Jazz' with Skerik on sax and an entire improv jazz set that is where he is heading. More and more of his recent projects have been going to an improvisation at certain points and I love that. He is definitely growing as an artist and musician.

I seen them live 2006 these songs were still their newest material and showcasing a full set of sailing the seas of cheese. Suuuuch a badass show. No one but primus like 3 hours of primus 1 set of new stuff old stuff and shennanigans then that full sail journey of a second set. I know some shows they did frizzle fry entirely which is super cool too. I think they started the trend of playing full albums and anniversary shows

I've heard a few of Primus's singles over the years, but they always deliver on that "all over the place" atmosphere and really utilizing the entire neck of the guitars. The vocals on this one were a little different than some of the other ones, Les almost sounds like Dave Mustaine to me. Just really using the top half of his vocal range and not his usual 'rambling' vocals. Awesome stuff as always, thanks for the vid, Geebz! Excited for that Isis slow burn, been a while since I heard anything from them. Love you man, keep on rocking!🤘🤙

You have some time ago analyzed Type O Negative " Girlfriends Girlfriend" . I heard that song and saw the video really long time ago and was thoroughly mesmerized by Peter Steele. His voice and piercing emerald eyes were beyond this world. (We females react differently to music) I watched them live in Wacken 2009, and was thoroughly upset what a wreck he was. Not well at all. Drinking wine from a bottle and splashing it around the stage, no sparks in his yes. So sad. That was long ago and he now has followed his beloved cat Venus to the rainbow bridge. But listen to a Finnish gothic band 69 EYES and their two songs I love. BRANDON LEE (official video) and GOTHIC GIRL (official video) The voice of the vocalist JYRKI, resembles to Steele. The music itself is not as heavy but.. I know you have masses of requests for various artists, yet I keep my hopes high. No mindblowing music to be ecpected but this band still has very loyal fans around the world. And thank you even having time to read this.

Hi man, you already made videos on several songs of Mastodon’s latest album and so I wanted to offer you to make videos on some other of their music. The guitarist has learned to play on a bandjo which makes it so atypical playing technique sometimes as in the sound « Beast »of the last album. Also I wanted to advise you the sound "gobblers of dregs" which is for me the sound that i love the most when I saw them in concert! There you go, I love what you do Thank you

Geebz you should check out the concert the guys from South Park just put out recently on their KZfaq channel. It's their 25th anniversary show, Primus is there with Ween and Matt and Trey (south parks creators). It's too much fun, and at times it becomes a "big band" type of thing with Primus and Ween being the backing band for the shows songs. Just thought you'd get a kick out of it!

South Park was around 97 I guess? This was their first time back after a long (rumored permanent) hiatus and Tim Alexander’s first time back on drums since I want to say the Tales From the Punchbowl tour. So between South Park and this EP we have the Brown Album and Antipop, as well as Les’ Frog Brigade and Oysterhead projects and a bunch of never recorded one offs on the jam festival circuit. If you can get a copy of this EP/DVD combo I highly recommend it. It includes every music video they made up to this point (including The Devil Went Down to Georgia which never got an official audio only release) as well as live footage dating back to the days of Primate.

The start sounds like when a jukebox gets shot in a movie. Dang what a shift half way. IDK why but to me with primus always seems off/odd/uneasy/unusual. If you need something new to do you could do a riff, upload it and then people leave comments about what they liked and then you could make a ver. 2.0 and we can write it together... idk it just popped into my head when you said you were getting to the point you didn't know what to do. Also you still have all the punk type music to try like AFI - Death of Seasons or the boy who destroyed the world. Also also you do videos on how to listen to music better like eq settings or how to learn how to set your eq settings... like what song to listen to and what to hear for to make sure you tuned it right.

This was after Anti-Pop. They where to be the biggest band ever with the album but groups got them pulled off MTV and VH1 for Lacquer Head (Their Single) over it being about huffing. The song and album did amazing but was pulled and Primus even with Anti-Pop being such an amazing album with all stars on it was destroyed and Primus was forced to be the underground band again forever. This album and DVD was them saying, “F trying to make it, we just forever will be us and will never stop”.
