There is nothing to defend Prince about. I knew him. He's the most under-rated musical genius ever. I almost died from fentanyl poisoning in 2005, so I realize that the narcan they gave him in Chicago caused his withdrawal and he should have has a Dr.s help instead of being judged or thrown into detox. They asked Eric Clapton once what it was like being the best guitar player ever. He responded by saying "I don't know, ask Prince" RIP. See you on the other side little genius. 😥

True story. When I was a kid, I hated Prince and my sister was obsessed with him. His music was on all the time. Then Purple Rain came out on vhs. After the third watching, it started to sink in how much of a genius he was, our version of Amadeus. He wrote music for The Time, Apollonia, Vanity 6, Sheena Easton, Sinead O'Connon, Bangles and Sheila E. You don’t have to like him, but you have to respect him. Rest Easy 🤴 ❤

And I have said for 4 decades (!), if you don't like His Royal Badness, whom Maceo Parker - who worked for James Brown before working for Prince) dubbed to be THE Hardest Working Man in Showbizz (instead of James Brown, whom I oc also truly love), then you have a bad hearing ;) Am glad though, that you finally could see what a genius he was. I lost my wife to cancer after 22 years of marriage. She was the closest thing to perfect. She was my best friend, confidant and the only person I could've counted to have my back no matter what. This song really brings tears to my eyes and made me ask the same question" What is love, if it's not guaranteed? What is love if she's not here with me?' Now I realize that love and life are just beautiful vacations that need to be enjoyed as they're never guaranteed to last forever. I won't forget the last thing she said to me before losing consciousness " Don't allow yourself to be distracted from living your life. The only things you're guaranteed to take away from this life are your last meal and the memories.

I had my 5 year old granddaughter in my car the other day, she wanted me to turn on the radio. "When Doves Cry' was playing. She LOVED it so I told her about Prince, now Prince is her favorite musician. She was so excited about him that I didn't have the heart to tell her that he's already gone, I just told her he's my favorite too.

My mom introduced me to prince when I was young enough to understand music. She even said that she went to a concert of his and that was the highlight of her life. Now that she’s gone, I’m pretty sure she’s hanging out with him. May both Rest In Peace

Prince played a huge role in getting Janet famous for her music because after w failed albums.... Prince introduced her to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Janet moved to Minneapolis. Michael named his son Prince. Prince is responsible for many people's careers. I have been in awe of him since I was 5. Always live a Purple Life💜

I went to one of his concerts. He was very in tune with the audience. Played several different music tunes and listened to the audience reaction. He stopped and said you like jazz. It was amazing to see him pick up different instruments throughout the show. ✌💜👑

"I wanna be your lover." I had that 45 record and played it over and over again in Junior High school. Damn it's taking me back!! How I wish we could. I would have never picked up a cigarette, never would have fell in love with that neighbor kid and would have listened to those telling us life goes by fast😢. Loved Prince from that record on! I miss Prince so much! I have been in love with him and his music since I was nine years old, now I am 46 years old. My first concert I ever went to was Purple Rain. That experience opened up a love for him, his music, his creativity and his energy. I even love all of the artist who worked with him: Sheila E., Morris Day and the Time, Vanity, Apollonia, Jessie Johnson, Sheena Easton. I love Jerome! He is funny! I love his personality! Cat did not receive enough credit for working with him during the Sign O' The Times/Love Sexy Era. She was a great dancer, singer and talented writer. I loved her! But if I had the choice to marry Prince I would. He was such a sexy and mysterious man! Every year during my birth month of April I celebrate Prince by playing his music! Rest in Heaven the purple one. I will always love you!🥰😍🤩😘🤗

I remember listening to this song as the countdown to 2000 began! What a nostalgic feeling! Enjoying it in my teens and then again at 26. Still enjoying at 51.

I have always adored Prince. When I was a teen, there was a contest to win a date with him, and I had a dream that it was me that won. In my dream, I got to ride in his car with him. Oh, heaven. I listened to his songs over and over again. I know most of them word for word. Usually, all I have to do is hear a few chords of one of his songs, and I can immediately identifywhich one it is. He is so special and so wonderful, so beautiful, so sexy, so talented, so CREATIVE! And he has inspired so many people all over the world. Women swoon in his presence and dream about making love to him. In large part because of him, one of my great loves in life was a very talented musician and composer. Sometimes, when I hear his music now, it feels like he is singing to me from Heaven. I have been listening to many of his songs over the past few days, and he is even more wonderful than I remember him to be. Now that I am older, I can hear so many more nuances in his music, the composition, the details, just amazing! I used to dislike Darling Nicky because of the lyrics, but the other day, I heard it, and I was stunned by how breathtaking I found the music to be. When Doves Cry, the sexiest, most passionate, and delicately written piece of music ever! He wrote funky, pop symphonies. God, is he ever missed!!! He died way too young. I wish someone would release all of the stored music which he wrote that is stored at Paisley Park in his vault. Can you imagine what kind of musical gems are hidden away not being enjoyed? That would be like storing away Beethoven's music and not allowing people to hear it. I hope someday all of that music is brought to light. I'll bet he explored all genres of music. Prince, may you look down us from heaven and play joyously to us all and help us to release all of our suffering and pain. We love you always and forever. You still inspire us to be creative and break boundaries.

I do , I was a Teenager, when Prince came out. I was in fact Pregnant with my First Daughter. And she’s about to turn 38 years old 09/3 /2021 . I remember when he first came out. He had that first Album with the soft Afro, For YOU ! Then he came on the actual Music scene with the Old School Master Dirty Mind, with Dez and Andre , Bobby Z , and The Keyboard player Dr. Fink. I remember when the Music int, tried to tell Prince, that he couldn’t come on the Grammy Awards , nor the American Music Awards, because he Dressed to raunchy. And Please told them Fuck them , and there Awards shows. They had to pretty much beg him to finally come to the Awards Shows. He didn’t come to the Awards Shows, until he was getting, his OSCAR for Winning For Purple Rain. Then He made Under the Cherry Moon. Then He done Graffiti Bridge, with Telven Campbell . So he was a Movie Star too. And He wrote and done the Videos for Batman too. 😃♥️♥️❤️
