Philip is hilarious, no idea if he was like this in real life. But if he was, I would love to have met him.

@@owencheng523 Well, when a husband and wife are in their marital bedroom, talking in a suggestive tone about spending more time alone together, and the husband suggests the wife "gets on her knees", there's no way they could be talking about anything sexual! None at all! Why would it cross the minds of a married couple with (at the time) two children?

In the context of this show, even though dramatization for media sake, I can't imagine one year having just mundane conversations with someone for the 72nd year in a row and the next year where you sat with, stood with, or walked with, it's just one; I'm not surprised soon after Philip died did Elizabeth begin a health decline. Philip was certainly a bit wild, and he was a good looking man. There were voices of him being well, more than appropriately equipped down there as well. Plus it's only natural for a man to express lust for his wife (and vice versa). Glad to see they portrayed that!

With the amount of biting remarks Prince Philip has made about just about everyone, the Crown writers must have had a hard time choosing. Rest in peace, Your Royal Sassiness.

Like the time that the Africa tribesmen greeted the royal couple in their traditional garb and Philip said, "Oh, I see that you've all come to greet us wearing your pajamas!" Which I consider not sarcastic, but insulting. I guess that he was a good stallion for breeding, but other than that, he was a complete ass.

@@SymphonyBrahms Oddly I sad that to an African bloke at work as he'd come in dressed up for a job interview and he thought it was funny. Probably not good craic for a diplomatic meeting though.

I thought both Claire Foy and Olivia Coleman both hit Elizabeth out of the park, but I prefer Tobias Menzies’s Philip over Matt Smith’s. Will be curious to see how Imelda Staunton and Jonathon Pryce do. And just for the record, it’ll be weird for me to see Imelda Staunton playing Elizabeth after seeing her play Umbridge in the Harry Potter movies in the same way it was weird for me to see Matt Smith play Philip after he played the 11th Doctor.
