One such structure that houses many tales from our past is Amir Mahal. Nestled within bustling Royapettah, this is one of the oldest heritage buildings in Chennai. It was constructed by the British East India Company in 1798.

Alongwith Arcot nawabs family, Bundela Rajputs also accompanied them to capture Gingee fort. In 1701 Raja Swarup Singh ruled Gingee fort and later his son Raja De Singh ruled Gingee fort and fought with Arcot nawabs.....

18 acres...chennai has lot of poor people.....slum clearance board should acquire this to relocate construct ews buildings to slum dwellers.... alternate place can be given to these few people in suburbs of arcot town...

Such opulence and grandeur even today, where dose all this money come from , when all the princely states were annexed under the doctrine of lapses and annexsesion by the British , how come the nawab of arcot was granted such special rights and privileges, it's obvious , is it not , go back in history as such it's too lengthy to relate here , and you will you understand why ?
