i had trouble dm'ing this aswell, i have every adventure book so i presented them all to my players so they picked the one they liked, ( btw 1st time i ever dm'd :p ), after 2 sessions i was pulling my hairs out with this book and how to use it, so i just gave up, use the broad lines of the elements and made up my own story and how to run it. i'm gonna test this in 2 weeks and see how it goes :p

Great review and I agree this campaign is difficult to run and play as written. So as with all the campaign books, my group and I just use them as reference materials and creat our own stories.

Jacob Thanks. I think the book would make a reasonable collection of separate adventures, if run as one shots.

Oh man. Just ordered this book yesterday. Hoping to pick up this story after lost mines of phandelver. So glad you've put a video out to at least start to process of pulling the adventure together and understanding it!

Seriously though, I have enjoyed this book so far, and am spending some time flowcharting the adventure, thanks to your warnings! I love doing stuff like that, so its bee great fun prepping to run this. I love that the keyed entries have read-aloud text. I find it really helps when I dont have to describe so many locations.

This actually looks like an interesting challenge to DM. I have a lot of experience so it doesn't intimidate me too much. I have a question though: I use Fantasy Grounds, will that simplify this adventure?

Ya I always seen dnd as a idea of not having what you want, then there's the inside junk in a picture you deal with.. then there's the 4 tiers of the planes, and where you can "just do with it"

I can understand that. I recommend the adventure "Lost Mine of Phandelver" in the D&D 5e starter box as your first adventure. Also join my Facebook group to down load the index I made for Princes of the Apocalypse.
