Yes, she had nothing to do with the fact that she was 5'10". She had nothing to do with the fact that she inherited big blue eyes, golden wavy hair and good teeth. But she DID have something to do with the fact that she had a hair stylist come in every single day. She did have something to do with the beautician who made up her face. She DID have something to do with the very expensive garments she is wearing. It works like this: The Guest of Honour at the Premier is the Queen Mother. Prince Charles, Diana and Princess Anne are attending the Queen Mother. When The Queen or Queen Mother is present, then the women in the family generally negotiate about clothes and choose garments that DO NOT contrast or over-shadow the most Senior Royal woman present. Anne is wearing a gorgeous dress, but it does not overshadow or attract attention away from the Queen Mother. What has Diana done? She has worn a very sexy, very slinky, off the shoulder dress in a plain, intense colour that will draw as much attention away from the Queen Mother and onto herself as possible. Diana did THAT at every possible opportunity when the Queen or Queen Mother were present. People like to imagine that the Royal Family were "Jealous" of Diana. No. It was the other way around. Diana envied their status, and tried to UP-STAGE the senior Royal woman, particularly Her Majesty the Queen, whenever she possibly could. She wanted the LOVE that was due to the Queen, and the ATTENTION that was due to the Queen, and the LOYALTY that was due to the Queen. She played a great many little tricks to rob the Queen of these things, and what you see here, with her attempting to upstage the Queen Mother and Anne is just one example.
