this interview is a fraud and highly manipulative. But it has fooled many who are taken in by the clever use of make-up and by a manipulative voice and language. Diana let herself down - again and again. Diana was a psychological mess and must have been a nightmare to live with or be married to and this interview proves it. She was highly manipulative and highly unstable and used the media, and anything else to hand, to get at the royal family and her husband, hypocritically accusing him of being unfaithful whilst having any number of affairs herself. She says the marriage was "a bit crowded" - hypocritically referring to her husband when she was 10 times worse. This interview was the ultimate betrayal of her family, herself and the people of Britain - a total disgrace.

I remember being a child watching this interview with my mom, the reaction back then was so different than it would be now. People tore her apart! They made her seem like she was doing it for attention, that she was crazy, that she was manipulative. People would make fun of her bulimia, her depression. Because back then there was no such thing as mental health awareness. Everyone was just categorized as crazy. So for her to be as open and vulnerable as she was really shows how ahead of her time she was. And if she were still alive today she would probably be an advocate for Mental health

My grandmother, God rest her soul, used to tell me one of her favourite stories. She was holidaying in Northumberland and there was a rumour that Princess Diana was in the area at a nearby pub. She and my grandfather walked nearby to see if they could get a glimpse of her. They saw her car go past and waved, although the windows were blackened. To their surprise the car stopped and the back window came down and Diana greeted them both, spoke with them about their holiday, wished them well and shook their hands. My grandparents were by no means obsessed with the royals but this moment has always stuck with them both. She was a real and sweet woman.

The thing is, there are always two sides to a story but when I listen to her, she appears to answer each question honestly and without avoiding the question. When you watch interviews with Charles, he avoids or consciously navigates his way around the difficult questions. This (in my opinion) is why she is so popular with the people. It’s what makes her more relatable to people because they feel a connection with her honesty and vulnerability.

Diana was binge eating and purging multiple times a day on the honeymoon. She had unrealistic expectations and was disappointed and angry. She had a physically destructive outburst, and Charles was alarmed. Charles found a therapist for Diana before the honeymoon was over. Diana refused therapy. Charles had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. Most of the doctors diagnosed Diana with extreme depression and bulimia. In 1981, a doctor diagnosed Diana with borderline personality disorder (BPD). BPD is thought to be caused by childhood trauma. Diana was traumatized by her parents' fighting and divorce. Her mother left when Diana was age 6. She was emotionally neglected. She talked about her childhood and said she felt unwanted and unloved. Diana had many of the traits and symptoms of BPD. She was prone to mood swings, bulimia, self-mutilation, jealousy, paranoia, lying, and poor judgment. She was very emotionally needy and emotionally immature. She had difficulty controlling her emotions. She would threaten self-harm to get attention. She attempted suicide when she was pregnant with William. I believe Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's bulimia and other self-destructive behaviors. Especially since she refused professional help. Their relationship became increasingly toxic, and both were miserable by 1985. It was in 1985 that Diana performed her dance on public stage in the revealing white dress, she knew Charles would be embarrassed. It was also in 1985 that Diana became involved with her bodyguard, Barry Mannakee. Charles became aware of Diana's involvement with her bodyguard in 1986. Charles ended his intimate relationship with Diana in 1986 to protect the royal line of succession. Otherwise it would be possible for Diana to have a child by another man and pass the child off as an heir to the throne. That would be high treason. Diana's tell-all book and her BBC Panorama interview were intended to hurt and undermine Charles. Both are examples of Diana's contribution to the toxicity in the relationship and poor judgment. Diana said what she wanted people to believe, and it was extremely biased and very one-sided. Some of what she said was lies. She didn't like Balmoral and countryside living. Diana liked London. According to her butler, she never fully overcame her bulimia. She was still struggling with depression, bulimia, insomnia, paranoia, and BPD. She had been eventually treated for depression and bulimia. Diana talked about her depression and bulimia on multiple occasions. I think she was hypocritical when she implied Camilla caused the problems in their marriage. Diana was the OTHER WOMAN in Will Carling's and Oliver Hoare's marriages. Diana caused Will Carling's divorce. She attempted to break up Oliver Hoare's marriage. She knowingly hurt their wives. In 1994, Oliver ended their affair, Diana behaved like a lovesick teenager and made over 300 crank phone calls to his home day and night. There is no justification or excuse for Diana to have affairs with married men. Diana did what she wanted to do. ~~~~ The BBC Panorama interview prompted the queen to request the divorce. Basically, Diana was fired from her position in the royal family for undermining Charles, sharing the family dirty laundry with the public, and being disloyal to the monarchy. Diana was not a supportive and loyal member of the royal family. In her effort to destroy Charles's reputation, she risked damaging the monarchy and William's future. William was teased by his classmates after the BBC Panorama interview aired. Doing the interview was in very poor judgment. Good parents protect their children from scandalous information. Diana was the source of the scandalous information that upset William. He was 13 and had better sense than to share such information with the public.

@@karlamccullough5319 I appreciate you offering this history because I am ignorant of, and generally uninterested in, the royal family. However, mental illnesses are just that - illnesses - not character flaws or wilful choices. Scolding someone who is bulimic for wasting food is abhorrent regardless of their other behaviour or their willing or unwillingness to seek treatment. I can't find any evidence that Diana was ever diagnosed with BPD, only speculation. Can you cite a reference for that claim?
@karlamccullough53196 ай бұрын
@katkatkatkat463 There are articles and books written about Diana's mental health. One of the books is Diana in Search of Herself by Sally Bedell Smith. I read a number of articles about Diana's mental problems and BPD in general. I read that there are 9 traits and symptoms of BPD. Diana had many of the traits and symptoms. Having 5 is considered enough to be diagnosed with BPD. One of the articles I read was about when Charles was alarmed on the honeymoon. He had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. One of the doctors diagnosed Diana with BPD. The royal family was upset, and there are genetic factors associated with BPD. It's difficult to say if Diana was actually "shamed" for wasting food. It may have been her perception that she was mistreated. Her self-destructive behaviors were an issue in the marriage. Diana attempted suicide when she was pregnant with William. I think Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's self-destructive behaviors, especially since she refused professional help. I read about one time when Charles saw her stuffing her face, he said something like, "I suppose I'm going to see that when it comes up later on?" Not a very kind remark. Another time when Diana had not kept any food in for a few days, she was faint and wanted attention. She was doing the drama queen thing. Charles said, "Go faint somewhere else." Diana's bulimia was severe. Severe bulimia can cause nutritional deficiencies and irrational thinking. Severe bulimia can cause damage to internal organs including the heart. Approximately 5% of people with eating disorders commit suicide. Mentally healthy people do not have eating disorders. It's difficult to live with mentally ill and self-destructive people. Diana was prone to mood swings, bulimia, self-mutilation, jealousy, destructive outbursts, paranoia, lying, and poor judgment. She often made impulsive decisions. I read Charles saw a therapist during the marriage to cope with Diana's mental problems. I encourage you to do some research.

sometimes people will help you by being tough. some people can take the toughness; they’ll buck up and accept the challenge. others are not able to. my sister can only buck up if you talk to her tough. because she sees it as a challenge and it makes her overcome her pity party or whatever. my mom is not one of those. you have to appeal to her intellect. she can’t take it rough because she just retreats into her shell, and you feel bad. maybe Diana was one of those that couldn’t buck up.

@MattShillam7 жыл бұрын
It's a lyric of mine; having one magnificent, beautiful 'bird' or diamond, in this case Diana, and seeing across to the "greener side of the hill" and rather than realising this one 'bird' is worth more than the two in the bush, or on the "greener side", the man in question attempts to hit two birds with one stone by experiencing both the beautiful bird and the two in the bush. By being so destructive, in this analogy, rather than 'hitting two birds with one stone' the stone, instead, killed the most beautiful and most rare of the birds. A sad tale and an unimaginable waste.

Ronna Aa, At no point in the interview does Diana look sad, or come near tears. She drops her head forward and looks from under her brows, showing the lower whites of her eyes. If this is done with a raised, crinkled brow and a very sad mouth, it CAN be a sign of extreme humility, like a puppy saying "I am sorry I ate you slipper!" On the other hand, when the person has a scowl, it is a sign of aggression, like a bull about to charge. Or if the person rarely blinks and has a slight smile, it indicates they are very watchful, mindful of their exact words and probably lying their head off. In the case of Diana, she is NOT humble and apologetic. And she is NOT bullying the reporter that she has invited in. She is being very careful to give all her carefully-planned and very deceitful answers. Every time she delivers her lines (carefully designed to criticise the Royal Family, and get sympathy for herself) then she gives a little smile of satisfaction. She is doing a very very good job at making herself look like the VICTIM of the Royal Family. THAT is her aim.

Mary Anthony agreed that’s the resentment Harry feels towards these Royals!! Ran away with his own family

I think that’s one of his main reasons. I’m sure he’s watched a documentary or two

Yes, notice how the media show incite the demonising of Harry. So, glad he has gone to live his true life. Up the royals.

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and this interview truly portrays that. I felt so drawn to Diana throughout this candid video, so captivated by her honesty, that I cried. The world is a lesser place without her presence, but a better one because she was

She was absolutely startling gorgeous. And what I loved about her was just her. Her eyes spoke before she did. Her voice. Everything about her. She was just awesome❤️

I love how open she was about her issues because it wasn’t normal to just be so open about things like that especially with the position she was in. Such a strong and classy woman 💕💕💕💕

Martin Bashir and Matt Lauer should be held accountable for what they did to MJ, Britney and Princess Diana.

She was sooo not "thick", she had a lot more emotional intelligence than the entire royal family put together!!

That Charles was unable to love or even coexist with a woman like this is mind boggling. He is one screwed up guy.

@@pamelaanthick497 Unfortunately for him, he was a weak-willed man, totally in love with someone else. His mother had the backbone to insist she marry the man she wanted however, poor Charles did not inherit this quality. He is to be pitied.

Dam I’m from the states but I really hope they skip Charles and his mistress and move right to William and Kate. Are their actually people in England that want them to be the next king and queen??
