She was prone to mood swings, bulimia, self-mutilation, jealousy, paranoia, lying, and poor judgment. She was very emotionally needy and emotionally immature. She had difficulty controlling her emotions. She would threaten self-harm to get attention. She attempted suicide when she was pregnant with William. I believe Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's bulimia and other self-destructive behaviors. Especially since she refused professional help. Their relationship became increasingly toxic, and both were miserable by 1985. It was in 1985 that Diana performed her dance on public stage in the revealing white dress, she knew Charles would be embarrassed. Having 5 is considered enough to be diagnosed with BPD. One of the articles I read was about when Charles was alarmed on the honeymoon. He had a number of doctors see Diana trying to help her. One of the doctors diagnosed Diana with BPD. The royal family was upset, and there are genetic factors associated with BPD. It's difficult to say if Diana was actually "shamed" for wasting food. It may have been her perception that she was mistreated. Her self-destructive behaviors were an issue in the marriage. Diana attempted suicide when she was pregnant with William. I think Charles was sympathetic at first but became irritated and disgusted by Diana's self-destructive behaviors, especially since she refused professional help. I read about one time when Charles saw her stuffing her face, he said something like, "I suppose I'm going to see that when it comes up later on?" Not a very kind remark. Another time when Diana had not kept any food in for a few days, she was faint and wanted attention. She was doing the drama queen thing. Charles said, "Go faint somewhere else." Diana's bulimia was severe. Severe bulimia can cause nutritional deficiencies and irrational thinking. Severe bulimia can cause damage to internal organs including the heart. Approximately 5% of people with eating disorders commit suicide. Mentally healthy people do not have eating disorders. It's difficult to live with mentally ill and self-destructive people. Diana was prone to mood swings, bulimia, self-mutilation, jealousy, destructive outbursts, paranoia, lying, and poor judgment. She often made impulsive decisions. I read Charles saw a therapist during the marriage to cope with Diana's mental problems. I encourage you to do some research.

Talk about bologna! Why do you think that is? She was used as a princess because Camilla was off limits. At 19 years old they set her up. She loved her husband only he used her for children and carried on his affair with that women. That's what destroyed Diana and turned her into a mess.

Bashir is absolutely awful. He’s nice to the ppl he interviews on camera but then turns around and talks shit about them and tries to portray them in a bad light. He only used Diana to become more famous. Look what he did to Michael Jackson. He’s absolutely awful!

Bashir provided falsified documents to Diana to get her to grant this interview. He's no gentleman!

I see her trying to controll her smile/laugh several times. Don't like that unnatural move of her head looking up like an innocent 18 year old... famously interpreted as a "painful" look but I find it manipulative.

Ronna Aa, At no point in the interview does Diana look sad, or come near tears. She drops her head forward and looks from under her brows, showing the lower whites of her eyes. If this is done with a raised, crinkled brow and a very sad mouth, it CAN be a sign of extreme humility, like a puppy saying "I am sorry I ate you slipper!" On the other hand, when the person has a scowl, it is a sign of aggression, like a bull about to charge. Or if the person rarely blinks and has a slight smile, it indicates they are very watchful, mindful of their exact words and probably lying their head off. In the case of Diana, she is NOT humble and apologetic. And she is NOT bullying the reporter that she has invited in. She is being very careful to give all her carefully-planned and very deceitful answers. Every time she delivers her lines (carefully designed to criticise the Royal Family, and get sympathy for herself) then she gives a little smile of satisfaction. She is doing a very very good job at making herself look like the VICTIM of the Royal Family. THAT is her aim.

You have no idea whether or not she was a "lovely" person and one cannot "feel" that someone is in a better place. If you think you can, then you are self-delusional. Diana was a psychological mess and must have been a nightmare to live with or be married to and this interview proves it. She was highly manipulative and highly unstable and used the media, and anything else to hand, to get at the royal family and her husband, hypocritically accusing him of being unfaithful whilst having any number of affairs herself. She says the marriage was "a bit crowded" - hypocritically referring to her husband when she was 10 times worse. This interview was the ultimate betrayal of her family, herself and the people of Britain - a total disgrace.

Charles had no other chance! He had to follow the rules - he never had a chance of his own happiness at this time. Because duty comes first. Duty never cares about what u want as person it cares about what the crown wants in order to survive.

the family arranged Camilla's marriage to her current ex husband so Charles doesn't marry her and they got him to marry Diana. During that time, the future crown couldn't get divorced or marry a divorcee, so he couldn't marry Camilla and made Diana's life hell. He was initially victim but he made Diana a poor victim too. RIP.
