No one in history has ever been so universally adored as Diana, Princess of Wales. In her short life she captivated the world with her beauty, charm and limitless compassion. She challenged the century old tradition of stoic Royal silence and brought a Queen and her people closer than ever before. The legacy of the people’s princess still lives on two decades after her tragic and sudden death. It was her love of life, of people, of those less fortunate and of her children that saw her lead a quiet but powerful revolution that changed the British royal family, forever.

Diana wasn't his 'commoner' wife as is stated in this film. She was a Spencer, they are one of the oldest aristocratic families in England.

If Princess Diana was alive, and was in a happy marriage, what a beautiful, colourful and happy environment there would be, which would also help to enrich the life of our most gracious and adourable. HRH,Queen Elizabeth.

hayley s What’s wrong with us commoners? Kate was a commoner and she’s done well. They needed new blood because of centuries of intermarriage, causing health problems. The Queen Mother was a commoner also.

patrick m I didn’t misunderstand, I agree, Diana did have a good heritage. I just meant that the reference to “commoner” grates on me! Good Character is the thing that matters, and there are plenty of commoners with good character, and royals. That’s all I meant.
@Freespeech141

S. S. Cookies I get the point, it’s technically correct, if you judge others by their bloodlines, ok. I just don’t like people to be pigeonholed in that way, aristocrat/commoner. I really don’t think it matters. I don’t see people in that way, that’s all. The royal family is learning that too, no guarantees!

And she will never be compared to any one, beautiful inside and outside. Why did they really kill this woman? They thought that if they killed her she would be forgotten. They were so wrong, we will never forget Diana. Diana did not "poke the royals in the eye" where protocol is concerned! She was a real person dealing with ALL people. The royals were so stiff until Diana came along. She brought compassion and concern for all people. It broke my heart when she died. I cried and my heart ached for her and her boy's. Diana gave birth to two sons. Sons born from the original blood line of royal. This is WHY the Queen wanted Charles to marry Diana. Shame on the Queen and Charles!

I think she was poking the royal family in the eye when she was seeing muslim men, which she knew the family would be opposed to. She wanted the relationship with Khan to be public which he resisted. Then she took up with Fayed who was more than willing to step into the spotlight with her supposedly in an effort to gain influence with the royals.

The reason Camilla and Charles are supported is the majority of people are mature grownups, who realize enough is enough, enough hurt has taken place, enough tragedy and sadness, Diana and Dodi are dead, nothing will change that, life moves on and life is for the living, therefore intelligent, mature people chose to mitigate the hurt and to support Charles and Camilla, to support them in no way diminishes Diana's mark in life and on the world, to be kind toward Charles is not disloyal to Diana....plain and simple

She was never beautiful either she had a crooked nose like Alain Prost the French F1 driver (except Prost’s nose was a lot more crooked than hers), in fact she looked like she had been a boxer with her nose. As for her hairstyles they were all awful (now I know everyone had bad hair in the 80’s) except one which she had while excepting an award in New York for Humanitarian Of The Year and she was wearing a black dress at the time, that hairstyle looked nice on her. I would have liked to have seen her with long hair (as an adult as I’ve seen her with long hair as a child) as those short hairstyles did nothing for her. And her eyes, it looked like there was just something evil behind her eyes in some of the looks she gave

She’s also a role model for standing up to bullying and speaking out in the face of severe adversity. You cant take someone’s integrity or courage of conviction, you can only give up your own... or stick to it and that combo can topple even the largest of opponents. Diana and Goliath. Hers was the behaviour that inspires real people in real life... a golden carriage does nothing to fortify me in hard times. True hero.💝

Her sons are wonderful young men and it is a great joy to see how they have honored her memory and improved the royal family. I don't blame QE really, she was raised a certain way and could not be any differently. Charles could bear some blame, but he too had to live within the parameters set for him by previous generations. Diana was an amazing young woman who managed to go from a naive, clueless teenager to being a strong, resourceful woman who was able to navigate her way through an overwhelming weight of tradition and create a new identity for future members of the royal family...

I’ve been watching several documentaries of the royals as I’m laid up in bed, and what strikes me is how terribly Diana was treated and unsupported. What stands out to me is how other monarchs have shown adoration and allowed their consorts to shine and be themselves. I think Charles, and I actually don’t dislike him, but he needed so much to be the center of attention. Of course the world would marvel over his wife, he should have been proud of that. She was new and exciting. It was very shortsighted that they didn’t see the value Diana added to that family. And in the end, how they treated her shows very much about their unchanging character.

the royals dont "cherish her memory"? You barely saw anything to remind you that Diana ever existed?ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What is the family supposed to do? Go on TV every week and cry about her? Are they supposed to have a statue of her erected on every street corner? And when you say "the royals", who is it exactly you are referring to? And what the hell do you know about the family wanting to "forget her"? Considering the innovations done to the royal court since her death, I would say that the family most certainly has NOT forgotten her. Whatever the case, there is a water park dedicated to Diana that was opened by the queen, & her 2 children supervised its creation. The family has "cherished her memory" by taking very good care of her children, who are light-years more well-adjusted to the modern world than their royal ancestors ever were. They were very well taken care of, and if that isnt "cherishing her memory" than I dont know what is.
@pebbles7864

That "ditch" in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, is a joke. Yes, I was there. I'm not sure which of her two children supervised this joke either..Andrew and Anne? I hardly believe that. I think Diana's sisters may have had a say but I'm not sure. No, I don't expect them to be on television every week saying they miss her but I didn't expect to get the feeling that they have tried their best to forget her either. I felt it insulting that they didn't keep her apartments as they were in commemoration of Diana, the way that they did with Princess Margarets so that the people could get a glimpse of what her daily life was really like as we could Margarets. jAnd yes I did hope to see some lasting grand work of art to honor Diana for all the accomplishments she made in they way society understands and responds to people with Aids and other very important hard core issues that royals never had tackled before Diana came on the scene. I think she deserved that much and not be air brushed completely out of the picture after her demise. Thank you very much now you take the trip over there and see for yourself the pithy way that she has been commemorated! and lastly I would hope that anyones children would be well looked after if they were to expire and not be able to raise them for the childrens sake alone!!

Princess Diana indeed she has a place in so many peoples hearts. She is loved by many, she has broke the mold by reaching out to help others. I dont know what truly happened the night of the crash. I hope by her lead others can learn something valuable. Beautiful weddings, most loved children now men. Prayers with the family, friends and fans of the Princess. May you live in Peace and God Bless.

princess diana is my inspiration. she was both a free spirit who wanted to have fun and a deep thinker who wanted to make a difference. she was intensely spiritual with a belief in a higher power. she was a seeker after truth. she laughed a lot and cried a lot and showed her strengths and vulnerabilities for a purpose. when people say the world today is like this you have to remember its people who make the world and if diana hadnt of opened up maybe people wouldnt accept open emotion as much. william and harry with their mental health campaigns learnt from her. diana made speeches on feminism and depression at a time when people didnt talk about that. she stated depression is a disease like cancer except its so misunderstood. she changed things. with aids, landmines, the homeless and leprosy victims. she learnt fluent sign language, visited hospices, helped out the poor in africa and touched the untouchables in india. she befriended mother teresa. she said whoever is in distress can count on me. i will come wherever they are. she was a true humanitarium. she said we need to care for each other and in the process care for ourselves. she was classless and had friends from different backgrounds. she was an amazing mother who took her sons to the beach, to disneyworld, to the theatre and to the london dungeons. running around country estates isnt relatable but because of diana william and harry can always say i went to theme parks as a kid, i want to the movies with my mum, i queued up at mcdonalds to get my happy meal and they can relate. diana even gave william and harry pocket money and took them on the tube. she said she didnt want britain to be a foreign country to her boys. she took them to homeless shelters and told them those people arent victims but are courageous survivors. she hugged her children and said they were the centre of her life. while her husband was at the opera when william was in hospital she never left his side. she cheered her boys up and they cheered her up. whenever she was unhappy she used it for good things. she said only someone who knows what its like to be truly lonely know how important a kind word is or a chat by a hospital bed. she was relatable and had incredible warmth and humour. william and harry have said she had more guts than anyone else and was the best mother in the world. the world, not just the royal family is changed forever. she was affectionate and real.

william and harry who were the apple of her eye are her legacy. while charles introduced them to classical music and gardening diana introduced them to pop music and rollercoasters. while charles instilled manners and duty into them diana instilled kindness and doing whats right for you. both william and harry have said they think of their mother everyday and laugh at the memories. diana gave them the tools to be more open and compassionate down to them having them irreplacable human devoted loving crazy caring mum

Humanity lost a tremendous force of nature when they silenced her voice. But doing that didn’t silence her Spirit because she practiced *love*. They called her the Peoples Princess, Diana, they chose her to be their royalty. That threatened the entire empire. And I’m not sure Diana knew that she could do that. Given time, she would have. Her life was like a mystery to her, I think, in that the reality and the image weren’t always clear to her and she had to figure that out. That too, is relatable by anyone who has gone through a spiritual awakening and come to an awareness of what the two are and how they apply. Which she took seriously because she exposed her children to people closer to reality than they were.

I absolutely loved Lady Diana Spencer / Princess Diana. No kidding. I followed her when the press covered her as a school teacher all the way through her death. I cried horribly. Happy to have seen her in person when she visited Chicago.
