I think he must have said that because in his eyes, Diana wasn’t nice to *him* because she didn’t just let him abuse her and keep quiet about it. She let the whole world know what a scumbag he and his whole family were. And for someone as self centered as him, he probably is incapable of seeing any perspective other than his own, so he decided that her kindness to other people who didn’t hurt her must be fake. Let’s remember she isn’t the only woman who married into that family who has spoken out about the abuse and left!

I understand you view, and appreciate your comments.... Covering your head means submission to God, husband and power... She was in line of the royals to be Queen... She need not have done that... She covering her head would mean her head (nation) bows to whoever she is with... It's inappropriate.... And it's not part of her culture to have head covered unless in prayers... Respect or no respect I will not do that if I'm a queen representing a group of people unless it's part of my own culture... The meaning changes with the designated person.... Since childhood I tried to cover my head even in church... The veil always slipped off and I hated to knot or choke my neck with my scarf... It was better not to wear one than to keep fiddling and meddling around with...

I've seen in some cases the father of the bride remove the turban as a sign of humiliation (accepting insult) and place it in the legs of those who wish to destroy his daughter's life... You cannot ask a Sikh to remove his turban because it is not allowed to cover one's head... The signs may all denote the same and a bit varied from culture to culture... It means "submission" even in Bible to wear veil on one's head... I'm Catholic and I love to explore every religion... I once tried to enter a gurdwara and was forced to cover my head in the piece of cloth kept in their place... That I would not do, I went back home... But my stubborn nature to explore, I did return dressed like their culture and covered my head (I'm specific because I don't cover my head in church, not allowed to; wind usually blows my veil off since childhood, does not stay on my head; I don't cover even in cold season so much). Because I was dressed like them, I had to let them know I'm not one of them to follow their rituals (I cannot) to bow before the gurugrath sahib... I went and sat (like Muslim) and when I left I walked backwards, not showing my back to their gurugrath sahib as a sign of respect... Respect can be shown in many ways... Best part, none judged me even though I'm an INFJ/hyper sensitive to the emotion of those around me... Just one, saw me weirdly, rest were as calm as they could... Getting back to the royals... The crown is placed not for some Jewel... She represents the nation and her responsibility through it... Diana was next in line, the rule in British monarchy : "Never surrender!!" So they will not bow or even wear a veil but a cap... It's a question about the people they represent, they have rules to follow... They cannot follow the situation or rituals that means submission...
