@@spiritualoperatorI got in the Army with a waiver score of 25 on the ASVAB Test. I failed AIT training in August of 2021, but wasn't fully discharged from the Army until February of 2022. I took the ASVAB Test 8 times, and still have not passed it. The highest I ever scored was a 25 3 times on the ASVAB Test. Now i got this feeling that either it's going to be a long road trying to get back in the Army, or if I'm ever going to see the Army again. What should I do? Somebody please help me. I have to make a 31 or higher for me to ever reenlist again.

All of these reasons are exactly why I'm going back in. Prior service regular army 2010-2014. I miss everything about the military, the ups, the downs, but mostly the brotherhood and camaraderie. It's time.

Your reasons just proved to me that I’m not alone and a lot of you feel the same way. Hopefully I can rejoin and return to the only thing I’ve ever loved doing in life!

I did 4 years in the army (13B), got out for 4 years, went back into the reserves (12k) for 4 years, I’ve been out for 4 years and now I’m thinking about going back in as AGR for the long haul. I never took the military serious and getting older and maturing I’ve realized I’m not getting any younger and I need to figure out what to do with my life. Why not give up 15-20 years of my life to the army if you’re gonna do the same as a civilian for a job or corporation. I’ll still get to retire before everybody and I’ll have great benefits. You get to do so many different things in the Army that you can’t do as a civilian. And just putting on that uniform, it gives me purpose again. I just feel connected to every warrior throughout history. The only downside is the freedom to do as you please and smoke weed 😂. But it’s a small sacrifice for a better life. (Man if the army let me smoke weed I would do 40 years 😆)
@spiritualoperator

I was about to seperate myself from military service and get honorable discharge because I was having family issues. However, after intervention, I reconsidered to stay in the Army and now I'm retired with DFAS retirement checks, Tricare and many other benefits. I'm so glad I made it. I would encourage others who are seeking a discharge or can rejoin after honorable discharge to think about it.

Nothing serious but enough to keep me out. I tried & tried but no branch would take me. So I gave up but it never left my heart & mind. Now after all these years I have the chance again! And I'm going for it in the army reserve! Point in case being in my 30s with a family, iv been hesitant and doubtful but I feel it's what I should do and listening to you " a prior service men my age and a fellow believer" this really resonated with me and I thank you for that! 🙏 God Bless.

I’m not a religious person chaps but the part where you said you heard God tell you that you weren’t gone with the military, that is so true. Negative. I believe that would have changed my RE code. The reentry code matters a great deal when coming back, even between services. If the RE code is greater than zero, a waiver will most likely be needed. The more waivers needed, the more skeptical recruiters become. Still, bad RE codes can be overcome. The trick is showing motivation to the right recruiter.

That’s a tough one. Many states prevent double dipping in their Retirment systems. I am not sure with active-duty. Still, if one were to sign on refusing retirement benefits, it may be possible. Your former rank, branch, RE code, etc., all play a roll. Your first step would be talking to a recruiter in the branch you want to go. I have met a high-ranking former Airforce chaplain with 25 years, switching over to the Army as a MAJ. Talk to a recruiter and they should at least give you a direction.
