Just donated $500 to Feeding America as thanks for all the life lessons I've learned from Jorbs. * There's no value in not enjoying something * Don't ask, "is this good," ask "does this help me do the jobs I need to do right now?" * When you can't make a decision, start a spreadsheet.

*Run starts* *Breaks out the spreadsheets* Oh, this is going to be a good one! Though for reference, if you ever want to do something like this again, you don't actually need to enable all the different card modifiers - you can just use the Diverse modifier along with the Colorless Cards modifier. Enabling Diverse will also prevent Prismatic Shard itself from showing up during the run! In general, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the occasional custom run here - a good number of the modifiers are really interesting and can really shake things up with how you play the run, especially the red ones.

@Daizz
@Daizz 4 жыл бұрын
@@giacomozampaolo6780 Diverse does affect stores, you're probably thinking of Chimera, which just mixes your starter deck (and is probably the most boring modifier out of the daily ones, honestly should just be integrated into diverse IMO, in which case you'd actually have a meaningful distinction between mixing all the card modifiers vs using Diverse). The card modifiers are primarily intended as a kind of Diverse-lite, like how in dailies you'd only get one of them at a time. On that note, I can highly recommend trying out Ironclad with Green Cards or Defect with Red Cards a couple times in order to experience Juggernaut + After Image and Juggernaut + Frost orbs. The results are hilariously devastating.

Love the video! It's always super informative to have you go deep into your strategy and thought process behind how you play this game, and I always learn a ton from it above and beyond watching your regular runs. Was also really fun to see you do a crazy multicolor run. I was a bit surprised the deck didn't really go off the wall in any super interesting ways, but it seemed like you got offered a lot of junk, and obviously synergies are tougher in multicolor.

2:24:00 On the Strike+ vs Hemokinesis turn, Strike+ was doing 16 damage vs Hemokinesis' 21. That's only a 5 damage difference, so I believe the fight was not in fact winnable with that decision changed. (But Jorbs is like 100,000 times better at this game than I, so I must assume I am missing something) Also, I realize this is a comment on a 4 year old video. One random question on rare card generation - do all of the cards generate at once with the current rare chance, or is the chance re-evaluated after each card is generated. So for example, if I have a 20% rare chance going into a normal fight, do I have a ~10% chance to see two rares at once because all three cards have a 20% chance, or is it impossible to get two or more rares because the chance resets to -2% after the first rare gets generated? I also feel like I'm missing something with the desirability column defaults for act 1. Scrap Ooze looks to me like it shouldn't be -2, it should probably be a 0 at minimum - after all, you have the option of just leaving and getting no benefit or drawback, which is probably worth getting a 0. Have I just misunderstood what the desirability means?
@DavidGuild
@DavidGuild 4 жыл бұрын
I think it's card-by-card, i.e. you can't get two rares at once unless it's an elite fight. You're right about Scrap Ooze, I have no idea why he has it at -2.
@ph2559
@ph2559 4 жыл бұрын
The probability of cards change from the left card to the right in a card reward screen afaik. So gettinga rare as your rightmost card is more probable. There are times which i‘ve seen multiple rares in a card reward so i‘d assume it resets after that fight. Scrap Ooze is a very bad event. Having to pay on average like 20 health to get a random relic is not very desirable in act 1. The act is all about trading your health in to get as strong as possible. And getting rid of 20health means one less elite most of the time which is a far more valuable floor than scrap ooze. While you are right about the cfact that you can simply leave having a floor that does absolutely nothing is pretty bad in general and especially worse on Asc20 because of how the game‘s difficulty scales. So you want every floor to give you a certain value which is why scrap ooze is on -2.

Does the apotheosis from the library event affect rare chance from fights? Also, is whether a rare card shows up in that event affected by the same rare chance mechanic as fight rewards? Edit: Also this run was wonderful thank you! There was a lot of insight into the more meta stuff involved in a run that you don't often talk about. Thank you!
@macnolds4145
@macnolds4145 3 жыл бұрын
My take: simply put, with Prismatic Shard (if you get lucky) you can pull off some crazy synergistic combos. For example, Watcher encourages you to plan out your turns where you will deal double (or triple) damage, and is balanced by the fact that you can't typically pick up Ironclad's Demon Form (i.e. more Strength every turn!). That's the kind of stuff I'm looking to do when I get Shard.

Sad you couldn't win the last fight, I think the hemokinesis was only 5 damage extra, and the only way I saw to win was the 500 IQ move of bashing the boss instead of the enemy tanking the unneeded 8 hp, but getting 12 extra damage.
