The depression bit hit so hard because I had depression for years due to gastric health problems that were holding me back from accomplishing my life goals but it wasn't until I stopped giving it unnecessary attention and started distracting myself thru exercise, hiking, and my music job that I started beating depression and whenever my anxiety would kick in I would immediately leave the house and find something to do to fight it. @@Mamba22k yeah man when your eyes are on the prize and you're lazer focused, anxiety and depression become just a bump in the road that you easily pass by rather than a car wreck that completely consumes your life. @poncho_x4410
@poncho_x4410 4 жыл бұрын
Think of it like this, on the outside we're labeled and treated by everyone else as though we're not good enough and "less than", but then in prison we may be "following orders", but we're following the orders of those people who are just like us. People who know what we've been through and understand us and are in the same place and position as us. There's a huge level of mutual respect that exists in there between those who are among us and in our little groups. Then as for the cops and their rules in prison, even most of them understand how things work and even they show most inmates a different level of respect on the inside of those walls towards the inmates than the cops on the outside show to felons or people who are on papers or even just to the average law abiding citizen, ya know? Idk if that makes any sense to you or clears it up a bit, but its just kinda difficult to explain to someone who hasn't actually been there on the inside of those walls and cells that hasn't gone through it personally themselves, ya know? Prison just really has this whole culture and this entire like unwritten law that has to be experienced by yourself in order for you to TRULY understand what the dynamic is among inmates and how vastly different it is for those people when they're locked down inside versus how they function and exist on the outside upon being released. I hope I was able to give you a slight idea though as to how the two differ and why we're able to follow and be more comfortable with direction and certain types of "authority" while locked up doing a bid versus being on the outs.

My mom just retired from a prison in California. I love hearing her prison stories so much. She was highly respected by everyone. One time she pulled out a gift from Christmas from the whites. They made her a shank and the card said be careful out there during the holidays 😂. The irony, she worked with the hardest criminals and they told her to stay safe out there. It made her so nervous because obviously it’s contraband. I said what did you do? she said she hid it and never told anyone until she retired. One time someone said something disrespectful to my mom, she said the next day that man was fucked up, she said she knew why. The stories were endless. She was never once assaulted in 30 years. She wasn’t a dirty CO. Show them respect and they will definitely show you the same.

I like the way Wes sometimes makes solid points in a even tone, and sometimes he’ll repeat the key point of his phrase, and sometimes he’ll almost yell the main point. High energy, and you can feel he’s not selling bullshit. I respect Wes because he seems like someone who doesn’t mind being wrong - and growing with that knowledge, but will never be deceitful, or duplicitous. There’s not enough people who are such straight shooters

Just like actors do, he did some reps immediately before filming. If you watch this guys videos, he always just shows this one angle 99% of the time, and that’s because he ain’t ever worked out anything but arms and chest. He got the “prisoner physique”, I got a buddy with it, we call him chicken legs. It really cracks me up. You can see I’m right in some of his videos, he slips up and shows his lower body for a split second or old pics...

My points dropped and I ended up at Soledad CTF. Points so low I ended up with a gate pass. We worked the grade and we had a shack to relax, lift weights, hear music and tend a garden full of tomatoes and hot peppers. The shack was right across the street from Salinas Valley SP. Only one time.... ONE TIME did we hear the men at Salinas out in the yard enjoying the day. They were cheering on a game of softball or whatever they were allowed to do. Only one time!!!! They had it rough.
