NBA Rulebook Rule no.10, Section xiii, h. Upon ending his dribble or gaining control of the ball, a player may not touch the floor consecutively with the same foot (hop).

That’s why you land on two feet not one I used this move from anywhere on the court in High school but certain refs watch you so hard you beater land clean two feet and not the 1-2 they gone call it

@@scwitit3g4l30 yea I used to abuse this move till they started calling me for travel. I was getting mad buckets with that 🤣

You can’t pickup your dribble on a foot and land first on the same foot.
@Hope-dp8qz Жыл бұрын
Wouldn't you want to land with both feet simultaneously?
@aaronvoight27486 ай бұрын
100%. Pro hops need to be landed by both feet at the same time, or it will count as multiple steps. Also this doesn't establish a pivot foot and leaves you more options.
@scwitit3g4l304 ай бұрын
Exactly you have to land 2 feet and go str8 up no hesitation or nun….. this move I mastered so well you can do it anywhere on the court

It's really hard to land for me to land on my correct foot and go back up I'm 6'3 205 idk why
@davechow21683 жыл бұрын
If the ref sees you gather before the hop then he should call it. If you can hop just before the gather then you're good. They really shouldn't call anything unless it's really obvious. Just land on both feet or the opposite foot and you'll be Gucci everytime.

Dang need understand difference in stopping on two which is a proper jump stop. Versus jumping or hoping which is a travel. When I do it. I am stopping on two feet than power jump for a dunk or lay up. There is no hoping or jumping period. That's traveling
@ham.ster19973 жыл бұрын
idk. refs are gonna call same-foot travel on this
@paparichie70763 жыл бұрын
agree, some will, some won't, but strictly by the rules it's a walk: landing on same foot one jumped off. Or perhaps they changed the rules? I thought for the pro-hop most players land both feet together, then players have more options in terms of pivoting, up-n under, reverse pivot, Rondo, etc...
@thomassmith81593 жыл бұрын
Just land on 2 feet and you'll be fine

Land on both feet for safety
@JohnSebs3 жыл бұрын
Yep got called for that...you cannot take off with same foot and land with same foot...travel...
@mclouiesbelardo10383 жыл бұрын
If it was as before, it would definitely be called. But now with step zero, already clean. Crazy but rules have really changed.
@nachobizness12312 жыл бұрын
is that a travel?

Why inside hand finish? Looks harder than it needs to be.
@raimuchibenshin95773 жыл бұрын
Cuz it will be easier when u use the other hand?
@zapdos62443 жыл бұрын
I think inside hand finish helps protect the ball better with your body against the defender rather than the normal finish
@user-vt9ks2ul7n3 жыл бұрын
No gather, no travel.

Looks like a walk under FIBA rules, I teach a jump stop.
@mclouiesbelardo10383 жыл бұрын
Nah, fiba has since recognized step zero so this is already clean nowadays. You’re welcome.
