Here's an in-depth look at the missteps and victories that Mikey Taylor, Paul Rodriguez, Sean Malto and Mike "Mo" Capaldi took to gain financial freedom. For skaters and so many other athletes, it's always been "Us vs Them" mentality. A large number of us didn't get a traditional education and had to learn through the school of hard knocks. Loved this video. Also really loved Paul’s honesty, he doesn’t have to pretend he’s grown out of the flashy, LA lifestyle. He wants to keep balling and has been really smart in the way he’s invested his money to do so.

Man, I didn’t even know this happened! Someone already wrote this in the comments but I want to repeat it, spreading this information to skateboarders is super important because financial/business strategy is seldom talked about amongst skaters. You either have money or you don’t, and trying to manage it somehow violates the ethics of skating for passion (which is still valid).

High school kids, does your school have personal finance courses yet? im 32 and we never had anything to teach us financial basics, I hope the education system has evolved since.

Not in high school, I'm in middle but my 3 siblings have all gone through high school. Still no financial classes, however, there are some classes that teach you how to take care of a kid, which is very important.

I teach High School and, yes, we have business and financial literacy classes. Doesn't mean it helps every student, but still worth a try.

Mikey. You're doing something AMAZING for the community. Not everyone knows how to make it in the real world. Specially when skating and business is night and day. But thanks to Rob and people like you. Skaters are getting the education we're not getting and most of people. For the most part. Thanks. One day you're going to get the recognition you deserve. 🤘

These videos are really interesting and I completely agree with the message, but there's no practical information on what to invest in and how much you need to save up to start investing etc. For example, what could you do if you had £3,000 in savings etc?

This makes me for sure feel like the loser pile of shit i am, because I've only made 5k in 1 month twice in my life and I'm 40. And by 5k in 2 separate months not like 5k a month for years like I had a job where I got bonuses and did really well 1 month then years later i tore my minscus at work and the company I worked for fired me and tried to deny my labor and industries time loss so I went 6 weeks without a paycheck before the government stepped in told them they had to pay me so I got a lump sum. Anyway fml I just keep hoping I won't wake up one of these days.
