i had no idea that you can do this with skim boards i had a wooden one that i just skimmed on the sand with and got bored with it but for some reason it never crossed my mind that i should go straight into the waves and ride them, now i want to buy a new skim board immediately this looks soooo fun

I remember when my friend was able to skimboard along the wet sand, put his hand down on one side and rotate around 360 degrees. He was like the man. Skimboarding has come a long ways.

I was once asked to describe surfing. I was born and raised in Huntington Beach and surfed/fished from there to Newport Beach. Surfing is about experiencing the perfect day. It's the rare day when the sand, the breeze, the sun, the water, the people you are with, the waves and temperature are absolutely perfect. There is no experience like the perfect day. These days were very few. But when you experience this there will never be a day in your life like it. Anyone who surfs and reads this will know exactly what I mean. What memories these videos bring back. There is nothing that compares to my younger years at the beach.

Having no fins on the bottom for stability is a huge challenge and is another reason this kind of SBing is so badass. I think that must be why the enter the wave with a wrap around and also why the crouch down while approaching. Amazing.

A old buddy of mine Scott Manley at Sandy Beach Hawaii used to skim all the way out to Pipe littles catch waves that far out. Blair is just a legend.

It's surreal how he boomerangs in and out, sand hydroplanes wave and back 🤯 Wonder how many skimboard sales Blair has inspired people to purchase, just to realize one needs alien level talent plus countless hours of practice to pull off some of Blair's tricks. 💯🏄👌🥇

Don’t know about the ballerina part but “Blairisnikov” is dang sure a “BOSS” on a skim board. Timing your run and glide so you slide into those shore breaks sideways and then crank turns like those is NEXT LEVEL buy anyone’s standard. The boys were indeed “on fire!” Shaka!

Not football nor cricket nothing special i missed in my life but this skim boarding i wish to face gigantic waves.Sad part is i am far far way from ocean, but thanks KZfaq for these stuff.As a bad swimmer I exercised and enjoyed lot but this stuff is amazing.

Even been to the east coast? Dewey beach, “skimboard capital” so they say. Double overhead shore break, 200 yard flats on a sandy bottom. They pulled the jetties years ago and changed the topo. Now we skim.
