When it's a relatively unknown channel with very few comments and they are arguing if it's a pro strat or not then you know as a rookie that it's definitely a good strat. Thanks a bunch my friend, just what I needed. I am not planning to play multiplayer either so this is perfect for me.

If you added an auxiliary terminal along the line (as close to the farm as you can without being in its coverage) you can use short, fast feeder trains to transfer the goods away from the farm to the aux station keeping the transport rate high and allowing the resource to keep growing without having to worry about completely filling your train line!

yeah, that's a good method too. But it costs alot of money in running costs, also loading and unloading times and train leaving and coming into station slows down income amount when you are running over 10 trains on the line. The problem also becomes apparent when you have many trains on the same line (as I do), because they jam up the waaterworks and stop other trains from getting around faster. This way, you can have a smaller number of trains and utelise your lines better than having 40 little trains.

You have some good tips in here to help out beginner-and perhaps intermediate players. Particulary dragging light signals with Ctrl. A nice video that quickly gets to the point. The title seems misleading though. Starting at a farm, is one of the worst possible starts you can do, economy wise. As both grain and livestock are very poorly paid. So it takes longer to get the ball rolling. Other than that, the strat is good. And its nice you commented about increased distanse equal more money. Id say you can try to aim for a travel time of around 200 days for most goods.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I start with farms as it's the quickest way of starting your goods hauling to towns. Goods pay one of the best rates in the game, I might go into why I do it this way in a later video.

oh also, volume is another reason to go with farms instead of say wood or oil. Generally oil and wood don't have as high an output as a farm does, which equals more goods at the output if you use a farm.

Putting things on farms is expensive. It would have been cheaper to utilize that two-wide strip of land between the plots, I think.

This is true too. Sometimes when you're low on cash you have to think about costs for farmland. Generally I prefer to go around it in early game.

Using "Auto track" tool (hot key 'A') saves a lot of clicking.

Persistance is the short answer. But mostly it's because there's very few people making OpenTTD videos and the audience likes new content.

Yes, there will be more videos on this game in the future. At the moment though I can't really make them as my spare room is out of action due to a water pipe going explody!

yes, the sound is on by default but it can be changed from the main menu. It's in game options.

Transport fever 2 and transport tycoon are simpler

the first 4 track selections are useless,use the 5th one,no need to just change track type every single time

Hahaha yes, I tend to switch between them that way out of habit. The original game didn't have the 5th option. But, also, the 5th one leads to alot of tracks being layed in the wrong directions.
