Flange shearing area is not shown correctly (see 23:20). It should be the area over the hub diameter, cutting through the flange thickness, tf. The shown cross section area is (D^2-d^2)/4 and actually is not checked for shear here, as the key shear is more onerous. I'm disappointed that bolt bending is not considered here, and the bolt diameter is increased to more than double without justification. Also the selected allowable stresses should be based on an endurance limit or fatigue life limit, which could be mentioned shortly. Yet, for the purpose of a lecture, this video is a great introduction to flexible coupling calculations. So thank you very much for sharing this with us.
