I’m embarrassed to say I have used the hyaluron pen. Covid hit and I was unable to see my practitioner. With so much time at home, I found myself staring at my face in the mirror, just desperate to change everything. This led me to KZfaq where I found countless creators touting this pen. Embarrassingly, I jumped on the trend - it was August 2020. After using it several times on different parts of my body, I tried it on my face (please don’t come at me, this is difficult as it is, but I want others to know). I ended up hitting a vein which seemed to have “burst”, causing a large bruise and swelling directly by my right cheek. Immediately, I went to see one of the few dermatologists that was taking new patients, if any, at the time. I was embarrassed, in tears, and she told me she couldn’t do anything for me. Her bedside manner was dismissive and cold. She did mention she was seeing more and more of these injuries. Looking back, I can see I was suffering from some form of dysmorphia…and I think there are many individuals who are in the same boat as I was (doctors should understand this). Thankfully I healed, and it left no scarring or other issues BUT it took about a month for it to heal AND this could have ended very differently. My pen is long gone….and I’d beg anyone out there who is considering using this-please don’t! And please tune out anyone on social media who advertises these dangerous trends. Thanks for your time. 🙏🏽

Hyaluronic acid fillers are WAY bigger culprits in the overfilled, puffy, pillow face look, hyaluronidase reversals are common years down the line. Some of this discussion just seems far off the mark. Having had both sculptra and radiese treatments myself (obviously they do need to be done properly) I can tell you that they can both create true, very noticeabe skin quality improvements and they don't endlessly pull in water like HA does .. They are skin biostimulators and seem to genuinely improve the skin over time in a reliable way. PRF is potentially even better still and safest of all. Dr Rajani is an excellent KZfaq resource for expert knowledge of this particular area.

There's a lot to say against hyaluronic acid as well. There are several plastic surgeons who've shown videos of how much of the product they still found in patients' faces years and years after injection. I also don't think it's the right treatment after a certain age, especially for the lower face where a lot of us suffer volume loss first. It will just weigh the face down more. Hyaluronidase has also had its controversies, with some people suffering extreme volume loss and loose skin after it was used. Injectors still don't know why this happens to some and not others. With regard to Sculptra; I have had several treatments and the results were subtle, but my main reason for not having more treatments done is that the collagen it induces isn't the collagen your body makes in your younger years. It's actually scar collagen, caused by inflammation. I'm not sure I want to keep creating inflammation and scar tissue in my face. I saw an interview with a plastic surgeon who said face lifts in patients who have had Sculptra are more complicated, as it's hard for the surgeon to navigate all the scar tissue. At the moment, I would only consider fat transfer to get my facial volume back a little.

I'm not sure about extreme volume loss you are referring to, but I have heard about the use of hyaluronic acid, which I presume you are referring to as fillers. The loosening of the skin does not occur immediately; it happens with repeated filler use over many years. Over time, fillers can cause the skin's natural envelope to expand, and as the skin gradually shrinks back, it adopts this expanded state as its new natural state. Consequently, when the fillers are no longer present, the skin may remain loose and not return to its original state. This may require additional fillers to fill the gap, further contributing to the loosening of the skin. In some cases one might even have to have surgery e.g facelift to remove the extra skin.

My takeaway is that every restorative procedure comes with risks, every provider has their preferences, and everyone's body reacts differently to the addition of foreign substances. Knowing if I'm a good candidate for something, understanding how the treatment works, and asking myself if I could accept a worse case scenario would be the litmus test for me. These videos are good education.

Sculptra is amazing. There are even more refined brands out there now especially certain Korean products. Botox is irreversible also but it's widely used. It will eventually wear off and so will Sculptra in a sense if you stop doing it. It and other Bio-stimulators work with the body to reinforce the density and strength of the skin. You don't do it all at once. You do a series of them and then it will last up to 18 months or so and then start wearing off. So a good practitioner will assess the patient after the 4 to 8 weeks post procedure to see how much is being built and where and how much more might be needed. But eventually if you stop the injections and don't maintain with a booster once or twice a year the body will continue ageing naturally of course so it isn't as permanent as it's being made out to be. In countries such as Korea that are now leaders in the beauty industry, they mix the PLLA (which is the main component of Sculptra) with other cocktails and even hyaluronic fillers so that it can be placed strategically in the skin in areas where it will do most good and even improve the quality of the skin itself. PLLA or PCL is essentially made of the same material as dissolvable stitches used in surgery. It has been widely used in the reconstructive field and it is shown to improve the skin density and strength in numerous clinical studies. Using a cocktail including hyaluronic acid and even EGF and Exosomes can heal and improve the surface quality of the skin as well where there might be scarring or pit masks and even other acneic issues that have caused unwelcome changes in the skin. The key is to choose a practitioner who knows what they are doing and has done numerous procedures before yours. I had a "lunch time" mini face lift done years ago that went wrong and subsequent surgery and treatment to correct it including PRP and RF Micro needling when it was still a bit new and I saw only a temporary plumping with PRP and a big fat loss in my face with the other treatments especially on one side. PRP is a better option today as it's come a long way. Especially when mixed with your own purified fat which I have not tried. But the RF Microneedling did cause fat loss. I have thin skin so maybe that also contributed. I was left with adhesions and fibrotic tissue from the different attempts at correcting the irregularities making my face feel stiff and causing nerve and inflammatory responses. The Sculptra type products especially a combination of the deeper and more superficial types of Bio-stimulators and repair agents has started to improve my face and make it feel more comfortable and natural. I for one want to keep doing them from now on to improve and maintain the results as well as to keep me looking more youthful, glowy and still natural. There are many products coming out now that will stimulate your own cells to repair and to rebuild. It's the new frontier of non Invasive aesthetic wellness and age management. Using PRP and other Biostimulators and nutrients in the right areas depths and quantities along with products such as Botox in combination with some energy based devices used correctly should go a long way in keeping us from or slowing down the ravages of age, stress, illness and lifestyle.

I watch Dr. Rajani in Oregon. He doesn't like fillers but he uses sculptra but he mostly uses PRF, your own blood. I think that's the best way to go. So what if you have to repeat it unless you have a face lift with all those risks and even that you have to redo in 10 years. The older one is the more you should NOT have general anesthesia. MOST doctors don't take the training for PRF unfortunately. Rajani does NOT like HA fillers for faces at all. He does use threads. You have to use discernment. Plastic Surgeons can say anything to keep their income coming in. I haven't done any treatments yet, none but I am going to so I'm doing my homework now. And I'm 68. I would do PRF in a second if I could find an experienced doctor but that's like like looking for a needle in the haystack in Las Vegas.

Maybe the doctors that are experiencing too much volume from sculptra are injecting too much too quickly? I had one vial injected, waited four months to see what I would getting out of it before doing another. I received a small but significant volumizing effect in the injected areas. Now I expect the same with the second vile except we spread it out more so probably not even as much. Many doctors are injecting every six weeks which is kind of crazy to me, because I didn’t even see any results until like, 3.5 months.

The Honest channel why do you block comment with links? If you were honest you wouldn't do that. I posted a link to a very educational video about Scultra. Scultra offers a longer term solition that cuts into money they make selling fillers or using lasers for collagen production. I worked is plastic surgery for 10 years and have had Scultra. I love it! Edit - after posting this comment my link appears. Hmmmm. A varity of results should be welcomed and then people should do what they feel most comfortable with!

If radiesse could stimulate too much collagen, what about profhilo? And does radiesse or profhilo causes scar tissue under the skin? What’s the difference between radiesse vs fat grafting? Since radiesse could help with volume.

I love mono threads! By the way these women spoke about threads I can tell they’re not educated. Not all threads are barbed or used for lifting. Some threads are smooth and do not lift or contour the face. They will get rid of acne scars and dark under eye circles. I didn’t have the best experience with RF and would not do it again. Rf can be permanent And go very wrong with not much to reverse it

I'd be curious of your opinion on blepharoplasty (reducing the excess skin of the upper eyelids that pushes down on the upper lashes), and whether you've considered having it done. In Australia, it is recognised that the excess skin causing pressure on the lashes can contribute to chronic headaches, so about one third of the cost is reimbursed by Medicare (similar to NHS).

I think I could have possibly had a case to have it done on the NHS a few years ago when I had dermatitis on my upper lids due to the extent of the sagging. Instead I had a thermal ablative treatment which helped a bit. I would consider blepharoplasty but am not really very troubled by my hooded lids at the moment.

I love hyaluronacid too. Of course you can use hyaluronidase but you can damage the healthy skin with that too. My doctor told me that he has learned from the best doctors radiesse and Hyaluron fillers and to make the face younger he loves radiesse on the higher part of the middle face. Of course not too much. The face should look still soft in the area where it is injected. There are different arguments on where to use Hyaluron acid and radiesse depending which doctor you ask.

The more she tried other treatments, the worse it got. It made her very depressed. She decided to stop everything, to allow her face and skin to heal. She, also, realized she had to address her depression and reached out for therapy. Her face and skin look so much better.. As well, as her depression and low self esteem. The fat you lost in you face will come back, but it can take a long time. Allow yourself time.. You’ll get through it stronger, and more beautiful.

I don't think I would Ever consider getting anything injected like that into my face. And I'm even too freaked out to even get Botox! Fat transfer seems like the Only thing that's reasonable. And even though going under the knife is out of the question financially for the average person, if you had the $ & the right Dr. It'd be better to save up your money & eventually do that! I thought (when I was younger) that I would NEVER even consider it, but the older one gets, & you see the drastic things happening to you face, believe me, you reconsider the decision! I've heard many people talk about fat transfer, but personally, I don't think it's a good option based on what I've heard. Here are a few reasons: Variable results: Not all transferred fat cells may survive, leading to a partial loss of volume. Unpredictable absorption: It's difficult to predict how much fat will be absorbed by the body over time, resulting in potential variations in the long-term outcome. Uneven distribution: Changes in weight, whether from gain or loss, can cause uneven fat distribution, affecting the overall appearance of the face. Regarding Dr. Amir and his Vertical lift, I've also come across information about it. However, the procedure comes with a hefty price tag, ranging from tens of thousands of pounds to as high as £70,000 if not higher. This is because it's not a one-size-fits-all approach; Dr. Amir emphasizes customizing the procedure to each individual's face. Dr Amir also mentioned that he spent years developing this procedure, and so it hasn't being in the field for long. As a result, there aren't many before and after pictures available. Understandably, the high cost and limited practical implementation may deter potential patients from trying it out. People generally prefer to avoid being the guinea pig for untested techniques especially when they isn't a lot of before and after pictures. I mean would you pay thousand of pounds for a technique that only be used on a handful of people.

His prices were on the website a couple of months ago couldn't find on my recent visit. I added up the lower and upper face lift, eye lift, lip lift and I think it was close to $180K USD!

@@CG-xn4yi I believe there might be a slight miscommunication in our understanding. Dr. Amir, is an experienced practitioner in the field of facial rejuvenation, and has dedicated years to honing his expertise in various procedures, including cheek lifts, facelifts, and more. However, the Vertical Restore is a recent addition to his tool box, born from a decade-long quest to address the specific concerns voiced by his patients. Dr. Amir's stated that his concerns from patients led him to combine the different aspects of facial aging into a comprehensive procedure called the Vertical Restore which is culmination of ten to twelve years addressing these concerns. This approach as he puts it aims to address common signs of aging, such as the neck's transformation over time, the loss of volume in the cheeks, the drooping of the eyes, the definition of the jawline, etc. Additionally, it tackles the issue of the lower face, where collagen depletion in the cheeks can cause heaviness, and its all done in one procedure and not at different times since as he has stated the face doesn't age in segments. The Vertical Restore was not available a decade ago, as it represents the culmination of Dr. Amir's efforts to integrate the individual techniques into a unified procedure, at best it has only be around one or two years which is why there are a limited number of before-and-after pictures specifically featuring the Vertical Restore, as it has only been in practice for a year or two. Ps Even the Doctor himself has stated that the procedure is new.

@@theguest6127people see only before and after but they’re not showing them 10 years later as what I have heard from people that after certain years they’re back to where they were with a loss of a lot of money and a traumatic recovery plus all his before picture are with serious faces and no makeup and after pictures with smiley faces and full of makeup and that is not very honest for me
