I am all for it, being creative and solving problems is the way to excel. The engineering side says that this thing is going to cause a lot of damage to the hammer assy. The size of the bit, the offset distances from centerline and the width are going to multiply all the impact forces in ways that will destroy the mechanical assembly. Hammers and shears destroy themselves just using bare bones implements, this is going to speed that process up quite a bit. I still love the ingenuity and willingness to try, you can't learn if you never do.

You're right this is unusable in anything other than caliche. My BIL could dig that hole square using the original hammer they started with; I've seen his work personally. Cheap? No. He was extremely skilled.

There's a comment down below about burying the comments from people who cant build and just critize instead. But having seen the inside of a lot of broken mashed up demolition hammers, and making heavy equipment implements and repairing my own/making mods in my own workshop. Your comments are absolutely spot on. The non hardened insides will look like marshmellows that someones stood on after a hours runtime also. Maybe people should not tell people not to critique because maybe just maybe there are people experienced in the area who have valid input. Just they dont have a slick youtube channel and want to make videos about it. Curtis's work is much better, not sure why I even watched this channel, was just curious because I thought they were going to make the whole demolition hammer.

Btw; dig a hole to bury the comments we always see from those who can't build, so they criticize instead: "What you should have done is-I can already see a problem.." 🤔 God bless.

Just wondering why you are setting up your excavator backwards? Pro Tip: Always place the blade Behind the machine when digging or pecking. The reason is that it provides more leverage. Notice that when you press down with the boom, the front of the machine (in this case, the blade) moves up. Spin it around and the blade will actually be pressing back against the downward force from the tip of the boom. Also, with the blade in front, you are forcing your machine farther away from the digging or working area, forcing you to often reposition the machine. You are also not able to see clearly down into the hole. When you are digging, you limit your curl, and often clip the bucket on the blade, causing damage to both parts. You only need the blade/tool facing the work area when you are actually using it to push material. Do this one thing and your production time will greatly improve. This is one of the first things they teach you when you go to school to become an Operating Engineer. It is also in the manual.
@everytoolashammer9427
@everytoolashammer9427 4 ай бұрын
Putting the drive motors towards the front when you are digging or traveling will cause premature wearing. The idlers use bigger bearings and are less expensive to repair. Consult your operating manual as it will tell you to do the same. The dozer blade is not there for a leveraging tool although in the real world it is used as one.

Would it be possible to make a tank track cart that you pull in the sand? The ones with wheels dig into the sand. I thought about it and realized tanks use a differential and they aren't pulled so i didnt know it itd be possible to make. The handle has to almost guide the differential to control the tracks. On top of that they fold and fit in your trunk so its two challenges. Making it work and making it conpact. If you can figure that out youll be in every walmart come late spring

This tool is not going to last. Mild Steel with that much mass on the chisel will deteriate by itself fast. Sorry guys but there are tilt-rotation units just of the shelf to put inbetween the hammer and the boom. Its still going wo wear out by the beating of the hammer, but leaves way more juice for the hammer itself
