Just wondering if you could elaborate a little bit on what you said about compression with sidechain hi pass filter on the master buss. How do I set that up exactly?

Warren: For mastering, how does the Waves Abbey Road Mastering Chain compare to the Waves SSL Master Bus? I would be doing marvelously well if you would consider doing a video comparing the two. I have the Abbey Road plugin, wondering whether it's worth replacing it with the Master Bus. Or perhaps use the two together? Thanks.

Okay I'm not sure if this is right or wrong or not but this is something I like to do with my parallel buss. I get the best possible mix I can without vocals and record it to HiFi videotape. I recorded as hot as I can before it starts to distort. Then I play back the Hifi and recorded on a stereo track in my daw. Then I use the stock reverb that comes with studio one except there's no reverb. Then I add saturation and compression. of course you have to line it up perfectly with the rest of the song but that's not too hard to do

I've been a laymen/pro mixing and mastering engineer for 20 years, and seen a lot of tutorials, but these really top them all. It's intuitive, helpful and interesting,. Instead of adding some clickbait negative title like, "you suck at mixing", you get intelligent words.

REally appreciate the real world examples of how effects and automation affect music you have made. Helps me understand further than just talking about it. But I love your videos of just talking too. All is Gold.
