Am I the only one that struggled to pronounce "Daechwita"? 😂😂😂

Agust D is not only songwriter and composer, but producer of his own music. He is usually credited for keyboard/piano and synthesizer in his songs as well and he is always behind the concepts of his MVs

A daechwita is a Korean introductory military march to announce royalty or someone of great importance. It's that traditional sounding introduction on the beginning of this track 🙂. Suga/Agust D have such great duality and it never fails to impress!!

Agust D is the most successful male soloist from South Korea. His second self-produced mixtape is the most streamed album by K-soloist and Daechwita MV is the most liked MV of 2020 globally

This introvert member of BTS has really an alter-ego and transforms himself in a mega fierce rapper and performer whenever he creates his own songs. That's the amazing side of him. Note: the two fighters at the street in Daewichita are Jin and Jungkook 😁.

It makes my heart so happy that you got to see these MVs! Yoongi is, hands down, my favorite rapper, and not just in K-pop. I highly recommend "Interlude: Shadow," 'cause you really get to see his vulnerable side. It's so poignant and powerful.

The other one is his present self. So he shot his past self. "Daechwita" is a genre of Korean traditional military music, which was played to announce the arrival of king. He also produces/writes a lot of songs for BTS as well as for other top artists. He was also working as producer for brand like Samsung. Suga as a rapper blows me away but as a producer he’s crazy. There was an article in Vulture a few years ago they asked the top mixing engineers the hardest songs they ever mixed were and one was a song made by Suga, Interlude: Shadow off MOTS. It’s crazy deep complex song with so many tracks (so typical BTS). But he’s not just these hard songs. He has produced a bunch of songs for top female artists with such a delicate touch in so many styles (but also collabs with Epik High, Coldplay remix etc). It’s not surprising he won producer of the year on his non BTs stuff. I am obsessed. Full on. Notice which BTS songs he’s produced now.

Just wanna say that YOONGI's 2 FULL MIXTAPE's are gold. ( I don't usually listen to rap songs but damn Agust is really genius)

Yoongi (Suga/AgustD) is not shy at all. People make that mistake a lot because he's an introvert who doesn't love having the focus on him, but he's definitely not shy. He's actually very direct and outspoken. He's not a person who can bullshit and he doesn't like to pretend, he's very reflective and he says what he means, but he's not always the most talkative depending on his mood and energy level.

I just want to say that it's so nice hearing a new fan refer to Suga as the 'quiet one' and the 'nice guy'. A few years ago, all people would say was 'bad guy', 'blunt', 'savage', etc. It's nice to see newer fans having such a better idea of the type of guy is really is.

Yoongi was actually savage yet soft offstage and even thought he's quite sometimes, that swag and savageness he has in his solos is also him in real life. As the time you'll learn more about them thats when you'll realize it. Great reaction by the way :)

If you actually go deep down in the BTS album songs, especially the Cypher series or songs like Tear: Outro (written by him), you will see SUGA is not just a shy/quiet person even being in the BTS. He has always brought deep, meaningful, and even dark topics from his past experiences through lyrics. Also at 7:55, just a correction 'ON' did come out in the same year as 'Daechwita' in 2020. I think this surprising to you because you haven’t listened to the rap line on their own like the cyphers 1 - 4 or watched live performance of them. You would have seen this side of him for sure. You’ve been listening to more of their recent songs, their older music had a lot more rap verses than their later music and his verses were usually the harder more aggressive ones. That aside, though both mix tapes have a couple of savage songs on them the rest are more introspective. I would definitely recommend listening to ‘The Last’ from his first mixtape, it’s extremely raw, and you can hear the emotion clearly in his voice throughout the song. I hope you listen to D-2 as well as there’s no bad track on it.

Absolutely legendary…. There’s no one like yoongi imo…. He’s just made different … everything he does you don’t have to see his lyrics to feel what he wants you to feel imo …. ICONIC Yoongi is one of the fastest rappers in kpop and probably more than just that… his cadence is clean af … I think that something people really don’t acknowledge about yoongi and his solo music is how everything he does is based on emotion. "Daechwita" is not just a diss, it is so much deeper on psychological level and has so many historical references. Since you don't know his language and many things are lost in the translation i recommend you to check out explanation by Bookish theories to understand it. Agust D also explained this song - he said that king represents who he was and another name of king is anger. Black-haired guy represents who he is now. This song is about the conflict inside him and he talks about this subject in many songs

The new Suga kills the old Agust D. Money and power and clothes don't mean anything to him anymore...like they did when he began. He explains in the lyrics what's important to him now. I have no idea why this video and song were never nominated for any awards. It's filmed like a movie. The cinematography is so beautiful. And the production value and detail is out of of this world. I always love to see someone react to Daechwita for the first time. There is so much in this mv to discover. Jin and Jungkook fighting in the market. (Jin has a beard!) The butcher in the market being the executioner. The picture that Jungkook drew of their CEO, Bang Si-hyuk unrolled by SUGA’s ‘gang’ member. Daechwita, of what I'm pretty sure it means or in the way they used it, was back then when the king would come in to his palace, castle, or into the town. The the people would start saying Daechwita, as a sign that the king is coming.

Suga... Often times, a lot of people don't think too much of him when they first get into BTS. But he's much more than just a calm, chill introvert (at least, from what I've seen). He's just got a lot if layers to him, you know!! He might not be as overly expressive, but if you pay good attention, you won't miss whatever it is he wants to pass across, including his "bullshit moments" 🤣🤣 This, and many more reasons, are why he's my ultimate bias💜 I can relate so much to him, it's crazy. Did you watch Muster this year (Soowoozoo)?? BTS did Daechwita day 1. All of them had a part. And Jin and JK did their fight too. It was Amazing.

This might be a hefty request, but what about a whole album review. D-2 is mind blowing and I still can’t get over it more than a year and a half later. The songs are varied from straight up hardcore rap to melodic and even sort of ballad sounding song. It really shows his incredible range as an artist. Also, I think he did most of the work himself and he recorded parts of it while on tour in his hotel room if I’m not mistaken (with the equipment he carries everywhere like what u saw in the documentaries). He also produced most of the song if not all, wrote all of them, also made the beat from scratch, etc etc.

"Daechwita" has a lot of historical references. There is an explanation video for it if, you might want to react to it. But I understand the focus into his vocals and instrumentals since you are a producer, but since you are diving also into his personality, why not go into history and the real meaning of the song and what Suga spits as well. He is a genius, just as like what his studio is called. "Daechwita" is a song played when the royalty (king or queen) would be moving, or guests would visit, or when the army would be marching. There are two different Suga's in the MV, the real Suga is the citizen Suga who is poor and at the bottom.
