The male singer in this is actually a Harvard graduate, Ali Sethi. Remember this is a PAKISTANI music platform (although now many countries have their own Coke Studio, the original channel you're watching this from is from Pakistan). You should make a Pakistan playlist and explore more music from this country and the amazing fusions of eastern and western style of music.

Fun Fact: Coke Studio Pakistan is the original one where other countries have also copied Coke studio platform, while coke studio music recording is done live and in one take audio recording and Season 14 has now do one take audio and one take video at the same time.

Pakistani music is a whole different universe. This is coming from an Indian. Though we have same culture, the same language and the same music but they excel and when i say they excel I mean THEY EXCEL. I was listening to Pasoori on a loop for 4-8 months straigth when it was released.

Hey now that you guys have been introduced to Pakistani music, I would recommend also reacting on the behind the scenes of each song. So basically this was Season 14 of Coke Studio Pakistan. Every song in this season including this Pasoori has a behind the scenes called The Magical Journey, I bet you’ll love them as well.

Ali Sethi ( male singer) is well known classical/ghazal singer, with very different singing technique. When you explore more his music. Shae Gill, it was her debut in Coke Studio.

Its season 15 of coke studio pakistan. And the fun part is they record all this in 1 take . Not just this particular song but every song of last 14 season .. they just do it in 1 go .. ofcourse they do rehearsal before recording but after camera goes on it is just 1 take . Cool 😎

Many big singers from the 90s were Pakistani not to mention ur indian singers use Urdu aka our national language in ur Bollywood songs💀😂

@@anysm1139 i didn't name it Hindustani classical, it is what it is called by people even before you and i were born, also it can't be called sub continental because it's not the only classical singing, there's two major classical styles Hindustani and karnatic classical singing which is prominent in southern India and is in someway the processor of Hindustani also the vocal trainer in Pakistan also called it Hindustani classical So what's your problem then! Also Urdu which Pakistan choose to be it's national language , I wonder where it's genisis is from you guess it right near meerut City India. Dude everything about your identity is borrowed whether it's language script music and even culture.

Man the English translation didn't do justice to the actual meaning of the song. In Urdu, the meaning is so, so deep. In English, it sounds like a stereotypical heartbreak song, but in real, it's not. That's why when the male singer was singing, the lyrics had he/him pronouns. In Urdu poetry, these pronouns are used as abstract, which gives the song so many perspectives. The heartbreak could be because of a lover, a friend, failure in life, social pressure, a trustee, an addiction, ill fate, anything. The meaning is so philosophical, it's very beautiful. Philosophy is one the cores of Urdu language, the national poet of Pakistan Allama Iqbal will challenge your perspective in ways you haven't imagined. Sincerely, A Pakistani.

just watching this entire Coke Studio season itself (the theme is sort of a fusion of modern + traditional music) you'll be BLOWN away, the production level is incredible. and it's only 13 songs so not that many!

Tbh the entire the entire season 14 was great this is when they actually changed their style after a long long time and it worked..

Coke Studio Pakistan was started by a guy from an old pop group in Pakistan in late 80's called Vital Signs. Now Coke Studio idea and brand has been adopted by India, Bangladesh, Africa and others but CS-Pakistan still rules and they have changed it up and a step ahead. Pakistani culture is similar to North India and Bollywood (India) actually writes songs in Urdu which is the national language of Pakistan because poetry and song seem to fit better in that language as opposed to Hindi which is Indian national language. The main male singer in this song is a Harvard grad and the main female singer, well this is her debut first performance. She has such a great tone. Play some Mandolin man. Tremolo picking isn't too hard. You'll get it in a week.

Stop saying Urdu, when Coke Studios uses a variety of languages. English, Sindhi, Urdu. Pasoori isn't even written in Urdu outside of one verse.
