I just came back to the US after teaching English in the war torn eastern provinces of Ukraine for 2 years. Before that I was working and traveling in Turkey, Azerbaijian and Kazakhstan for 6 years. Now I start my new job as a account analyst for an education consulting firm, which I already know is going to be mind numbingly, soul crushingly boring and miserable. Oh well, it's time to grow up, get a job with health insurance, and be UNHAPPY. This is my song.

Responding to an ancient post... no, not all public accountants are certified. Mostly depends on state law. I am a public accountant that has all the prerequisites to sit for the certification test, but I am not certified and likely never will be unless I have to.

I went to school for accounting cause my mom wanted me to be one. A semester in I remembered this scene and opted out and became a business management major. I just graduated and have been looking to work, but I know I would maybe be unhappy if I became an accountant.

You want to know the difference between PA and CPA? It’s called luck. The exams take time, commitment, and luck. CPA means can’t pass again for a reason. The AI tool Chat GPT couldn’t even pass it, but it did pass the bar exam.

In the case of this song it is about dreary repetition, so “Unhappy“ being the most used word in the song makes sense in a thematic way.
