One of your secret ingredients for popularity is you say things like, “it’s hard enough to …”. You sympathize, understand, and don’t talk to us like we’re idiots when advertisers constantly lie or leave out necessary instructions. You don’t lower eye lid, raise an eyebrow, look down on us, and have that bored superior voice we’ve all met in the salon chair. You’re an educator, human, even admit your own bloopers and willing to repeat information for those of us that missed a video or, like me needs a repeat before the lights come on. How refreshing! I’m getting results and I thank you.

This is definitely why I like his videos. I hate going to the salon because every time it feels like the hairdresser is roasting me instead of giving tips trying to help me. That's why I haven't been to a salon since 2010. Also the last hairdresser botched my hair when I was going through a very bad time in my life, so I'm not sure if I'll ever get over it.

In a different video about washing hairbrushes he tells a super long story that is basically that a client hadn’t ever washed her brush and that’s what was making her hair greasy when she did it at home and instead of acting like she’s gross for that he said he was bummed because he realized HE had failed to teach her that she needed to do that, so he goes out of his way to be sympathetic and understanding with us!
@meaganlockhart

I found your channel a month ago. Within a few weeks my hair has improved about 70% (maybe it would be 100% but I'm finishing the shampoo and conditioner I have before purchasing your recommendation). I'm 60 and I used a ton of products previous to this just to get my hair to look fairly OK. Now I wash my hair twice a week and only use your trifecta and oil in the morning: no mousse, no texturizer, no spray. It looks longer and is more swingy and bouncy. Thanks!

However I decided to go for it and switch to Redken. I liked it but wasn’t blown away. So I added your recommendation of Redken volume heat protection and the thermal spray. howdy! im honestly just commenting my experience bc chris has created a safe community fr. i found chris less than a week ago, and my hair has already changed it’s life. the first time i ever watched his videos, i learned about the trinity wash, and i IMMEDIATELY jumped in the shower after going to walmart to get a shea moisture hair mask, and garnier oil and a leave in conditioner (since i was only using shampoo and conditioner at the time). with lower end products/drugstore brands, my hair had still never felt better or cleaner. i was able to go almost an entire week without washing my fine hair! i decided that next payday i’d go ahead and buy some olaplex, a hair mask, and the trinity box for fine hair. i really think i’ve met some of my hair care soulmates! olaplex 3 was a lifesaver for my hair, along with the moroccanoil hydrating mask!

OMG it actually does matter! I wish I knew this years ago as I have spent years putting my hear in a bun or pony tail out of pure frustration. Last week I came across ur videos and ordered a smaller size of the Redken shampoo and conditioner u recommended as well as the other products u listed. ITS A MIRACLE! I have wasted so much money to only end up with my hair frizzing and looking like a puff ball - I would put product upon product on it, leaving it looking greasy and nasty. Anyway I followed ur direction and my hair looks and feels AMAZING!!!! I went out last night - even danced and it did not frizz - I woke up and it still looks great. THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!! seriously my hair was the bane of my existence - it never cooperated. Since I can’t go to the salon every week I would cover it with a hat or put it up. I'm actually allergic to parabens. I was so itchy and rashy. Took an allergy patch test, and it was just parabens. It's really common to be a sensitive ingredient. The derm explained that some people develop allergies to sensitive ingredients over time with excessive use. Thankfully most products don't use parabens anymore. But I'm more careful about ingredients now since my skin is sensitive and I'd like to avoid developing more allergies. Pretty common issue too.

In response to why that young woman warned me about the thermal spray: It was because she didn’t have a clue how to use it. She said it makes your hair hard and sticky, well, just like this guy said in the video, yes, it will do that - if you spray a ton of it too close to your hair! Spray it 6 inches or so from your hair. She admitted to not wanting to read the product labels, too, and was not a hair dresser or any sort of expert. I never had clip-ins, so I have no advice on that, but maybe this guy does. However, with those, I’d be concerned about causing stress on the hair follicles. I realize sometimes people use them to have the appearance of thicker hair, but I would be concerned about the long-term risks over short-term gain. Sometimes cut, styling and product options are a better way to go. If they are for lengthening your hair, remember that the grass is always greener. Lol. Again, cut, style and product can help you while you grow it out, and even make it more fun, to enjoy what you have, etc.

I have learned so much from this channel. I have tried all of the products and while I went back to my original shampoo and conditioner the other items have been a blessing. I use Sebastian Penetraiit and it has similar results to the Redken Shampoo and Conditioner. The odor is so much better! Thanks for everything!

After watching some of your video's I've got rid of all my off the shelf (useless gunky eventually very oily after a couple of days) shampoo and conditioner and hair products and am now just using exactly what you recommend, I'm trying to grow my hair and have cherry picked the olaplex range for 3 and 6 along with the oil and am waiting patiently for the leave in conditioner and am only using 1 Redken shampoo with matching conditioner. Also using a detoxifying shampoo once a month as my hair is fine and curly also colour it too but blowdry it straight. Its been a long time since my hair has felt so incredible and I get more than 3 days from my blow-dry. Can't thank you enough. Was kinda lost because there's so much out there in the market its so confusing. Refocused my regime with fantastic results.. Thank you my hair now feels so healthy using quality products

Thanks so much Chris for all your great advice. I have 3A & 3 B curly hair. For styling my curls, are there any additional stylers you recommend to use with your recommended leave in conditioner and the Olaplex oil for the ends? A curly cream? I don’t think the leave in and oil would be sufficient to keep my curls bouncy and soft all day. Also, what are your recommendations for refreshing my curls between washes? Sending the best of wishes and thanks again for your great channel and helpful videos.

Once again, amazing video filled with SO MUCH useful information! I remember when women used regular hairspray as a “heat protectant” right before hitting it with a super hot curling iron. Heck, they STILL do it 😬😆 Then when they want a haircut to take care of the damage, they only want 1/4 an inch off 👀

Are there any curly hair guru as knowledgeable as you that you that you would recommend. Your products saved my hair that I had been straightening because of damaged curls but with your products and a new cut, they are poppin again! So I want to wear it curly again for awhile and I haven't found anyone talking about curly hair that I'm certain actually knows what they are talking about. woul

Thank you for this explanation!! I almost gave up on Kendra myself. But even with wet sticky hair I realized how much better my hair looked after straightening with it than without. I will use less. Also recommend that people wear a shirt or a robe when spraying this I ended with a rash on my chest and arms from product irritation.

Hi Chris. I greatly appreciate your pearls of wisdom. I am allergic to all kind of synthetic perfumes. Unfortunately most of the hair product contain perfume. I purchased some of the products you recommended and I had to return them because the perfume was so strong that would give me headache, nausea and other symptoms. Any suggestion or recommendations on unscented hair product, especially for silver hair, would be a blessing. Thank you.

Hi Chris, the Team and everyone in this fantastic community. Absolutely love these videos, thank you very much for educating us ❤ Wondering if anyone could help me please or point me in the direction of a video if it has been discussed before - what is a shelflive period of products AFTER opening them? For example, blowdry cream - does it need to be used up within lets say 6 months after opening the package? etc Any help would be much appreciated ❤Thanks a lot in advance! x

It should tell you on the bottle. Usually, in the back of the bottle towards the bottom, there is a little figure of a jar with the lid off and numbers on the jar, usually 12 or 24. This is the number of months the product is good after opening. I hope this helps you. 😊

I definitely think the biggest mistake stylists make is that they assume their clients know how to properly use products. I never had a stylist tell me how to properly wash my hair or use any products correctly. It’s shocking how many people don’t know the basics

I do apply shampoo to my mids, when using a moisturising shampoo on the second go-around as I can feel the hair isn't quite clean yet, esp if I used extra gels and such for a style. But I learned the trick about not applying all the way down to the ends from Abbey Yung, and it has definitely made a difference!!

Honestly I've just started watching your videos, and a lot of products you keep mentioning are new to me. I have no idea how to use them or what they do, so maybe if you did like a whole product list and how to use them it would be nice and easier for beginners to understand. Like I honestly did not know that you had to apply oil to your ends other than your roots. Other than that your videos are amazing and they taught me a lot of stuff I didn't know before!
