Another good review Spud, just shows what a good set of beam scales are capable of. Have you seen my videos "acurizing the 502 scales" and "RCBS 502 scales with Targetmaster trickler"?

@twotwentyswift if you combione the 10 10 with the targetmaster trickler it has it on points but only just

Awesome as always Spud. Now for the big question. Which do you prefer, the Parker 10-10 or the big dollar Acculab. Seems to me the simplicity of the 10-10 gives it the edge. No interferance from florescent lights, electrical fluctuations etc. What do you think?

I have an old ohaus 10-10 scale but 10th sticker is missing. Can I get another from RCBS?

. Figures ! Had called wonderful RCBS and asked how to get one of mine fixed, so the guy just says don't send it to RCBS, send it right to Ohaus and they'll fix it... ! . Thanks for the info ! .

try that on a standard beam scale that hasn't been tuned up. this will allow you to dial in to a gnats ass on your powder charge.

you didnt mention any of the issues with the scale and what was tuned ....

What is the big deal about one kernel of powder.
@ivobiancucci45283 жыл бұрын
To demonstrate how accurate the scale is so if you want 22.9 grains of Varget you get 22.9 grains not 23.3 or 22.6 grains if you were to weigh the powder using another type of scale

my 5-0-5 already reads a kernal out of box

I think people are being fooled by Scott Parker.My RCBS 505 scale which is also an Ohaus mfg scale is just as sensitive and never been modified. Ohaus guarantees 0.1 grain lifetime accuracy on all its powder scales

if you were to shoot at 1000 yard targets you would soon find what difference i kernal can make,

Like I said one kernel of powder is nothing Compared to the variability of the case volume, primer and bullet variables. Not even 1000 yards will show you anything significant with one kernel of powder.

They will not fix it for free. They charge you $50. I have sent two in for repair and they charged me both times.
@crosstimbers210 жыл бұрын
I supposed you don't reload very much. My scales will move with one kernel of extruded powder and have had nothing more than cleaning of the knives and bearings. One kernel of powder means nothing.

That "RCBS" scale is nothing more than the Superb Ohaus 10-10 Scale painted their ugly green and probably set the $ higher than if it was bought thru Ohaus ! . If it was sent direct to Ohaus, they will overhaul & "Fix" it... for Free ! .

Lmao Scott Parker “tuned” scales ⚖️. In hindsight I can see how guys got wrapped up in this load of nonsense. At that time when forms were the only thing someone could look into for guidance and KZfaq just becoming a thing. It would be very hard not to think maybe my loads aren’t doing well because of my beam. I wonder how much money Scott really made off this. I know that there was a 2 year period when this Scott scale tuner guy had quite a few guys SERIOUSLY pissed. Because he was playing them like fiddles. Apparently telling them he would be mailing their “tuned” scales out in a week then not doing it leading them on for months. From what I read on some of the old forum posts some guys didn’t get their “tuned” scale for up to a year even worse apparently some never received their scale to this day. I’m so glad this sort of crap isn’t as easy or prevalent in the hobby anymore. It’s really sad that this kind of crap was happening to begin with. Most new people to the hobby think the 2a community is just a bunch of honest people. And it is for the most part but just like anything else. There is always someone out there trying to separate you from your hard earned cash. Btw my used EBay Rcbs 10 10 will show 1 kernel of IMR4320. Who knows maybe my used unit was “tuned” by the great Scott Parker.

So what does each "kernel" you're putting in there WEIGH? Nothing because that's not a "scale". It's a "balance".

Why did rcbs stop making the 10 10 scale it was a very good one
