The ANC's electoral support dropped significantly after the 29 May polls. This has been seen as a turning point for the oldest liberation movement in Africa. The party's loss of support follows that of other former liberation movements which then took over governments in southern Africa. Prof. Henning Melber unpacks this turning point in SA's political landscape.

Credit goes to ordinary South Africans who are conscience about bread and butter issues. Had it not been or this conscience we would likely be in the same boat as Zimbabweans. As much as the ANC liberated them from oppression they gradually sent warning signs to ANC to prioritised the citizen's interests. Citizens were patient giving ANC opportunity to change their direction especially after the State Capture report. The 2024 election results are a final warning that things have to change in how ANC leads the country. Hence the GNU.

Colonialism is inherent in all the countries that have since got liberated especially in Africa. This inherent colonialism has taken different forms. In some countries it has taken the forms military take overs. In our case the increase in political parties in the each successive run up to elections is a factor. The increase of these political parties indirectly play at the hands of the erstwhile colonial powers.

You are talking absolute rubbish. Our liberation movements have dismally failed to govern, they are just quick to emulate their colonial masters😂😂😂
