Does the current European Union, with its bureaucracy and ideological madness, have anything to do with the concept of integration that appeared after World War II in the writings and projects of its founding fathers?
How would they feel if they saw the European institutions today? How would a communist Altiero Spinelli feel, how would the socialist Paul-Henri Spaak feel, how would Jean Monnet feel, and how would Catholics like Konrad Adenauer, Robert Schuman and Alcide De Gasperi feel?
Was their idea of an integrated Europe more beautiful than what we see today?
