At stage IV cancer (extensive metastases throughout my bones) I had arrived at the stage where my bones were snapping like twigs (femur, rib, parts of spine) . After I came out of hospital from the femoral break, Iwas in too much pain from the fracture to leave the house for my customary oncology appointments, or see my GP. I came across a you tube upload about a man with prostate cancer who embarked on a ketogenic diet, and his cancer had basically healed. My diet prior to keto was by conventional standards very healthy: fruits, vegetables, grains and fats considered "healthy". When I finally saw my oncologist roughly 5 months later, my tumour markers had decreased from 441 to 114. At their height they were 672. My last result was 103 and scans show no progression or new tumours. I no longer need a walking stick not am I taking any oncology medication. In a few months I will have outlived the 5year stage IV survival rate which only 22% of people do. I am much more active, and no longer experience crippling migraines and debilitating fatigue. At their recorded height, my tumour markers were 672. My oncologist and GP say they have never seen anything like the decline my blood tests showed. I am also quite young to have stage IV cancer and as a surgeon told me 14 years ago: "the demographics are against you, the younger you are, it just spreads". Even with treatment, we would not be able to guarantee 5 years. Well, here I am. My expectations are commensurate with reality, but my expectations of conventional medicine were always low - so I never experienced a sense of undue disappointment. PS: in the nearly 2 years I have been keeping a ketogenic diet, I haven't broken a bone or required radiotherapy - which until then, had become an annual event. Cheers, Ladies and Gentlemen, Here's to the sun, proper food and critical appraisal of one's circumstances - rather than unthinking capitulation to Any "orthodoxy that must not be challenged" - including medical. I am not claiming a ketogenic diet will help everyone in my situation, but Something is apparently keeping me upright and out of a coffin (!)

A note to everyone considering transitioning to a low carb lifestyle.. the transition period can take months. There is clinical proof that the mitochondria actually have to undergo DNA "reprogramming" to effectively switch to burning ketone. This can take up to six months as older mitochondria are replaced by new. HOWEVER..You do get immediate beneficial results - absolutely no doubt about that - just keep at it, the benefits continue to grow and get better. Logically, the worse off you are with your metabolic health the longer it will take to gain optimum benefits.. I just don't want anyone to give up on this too early, keto at it - it works. I know, keto have my back my life in my sixties.. I feel like I'm 30 again.. and I have survive cancer. I also survived numerous other conditions i chalked up to old age.. not anyone, I'm muscled up, six pack tummy, wearing the same size clothes i wore in high school. absolutely no health problems.. I love life.. it's great!

“This must be the future...” after being one of several caregivers for several family members who died from cancer, without exception each quickly deteriorated once intensive standard of care chemo/radiation began. Prior to treatment, their health was far more vibrant. Perhaps if this approach had been utilized, the outcome, or at least the suffering, might have been different. Excellent presentation.

As I noted above, my oncologists insist there is no connection between glucose and cancer. I sit there in awe because the evidence suggests otherwise. But, the Princess Margaret Hospital is still a business after all. There is no program to teach cancer patients how to eat. However, there are plenty of restaurants and donut shops in the lobby to pick up sugar-laden donuts and sweets.

Yeah it would be terrible to sound 'conspiratorial.' The idea that two or more people get together to commit or perpetrate crimes against others is absolutely batshit crazy. It's scientifically proven that 99.99999% of all crimes are committed by lone deranged individuals. You should probably be locked up for even considering the idea that thousands of people are more concerned about the billions upon billions of dollars their racket generates than the health of the general population. Just disregard the fact that these people have openly stated for decades now that humanity in and of itself is a 'cancer upon the earth' and we need to greatly reduce the world population. You'd have to be crazy to believe that they actually believe what they say, write, and publish. (I'm not talking about medical professionals but rather the people who own...errr...fund them) Doctors are obviously all wonderful people who only care about helping their fellow man. *chuckle*

I agree with Dr Mason that Dr Seyfried deserves the Nobel Prize. Like with the current wisdom blaming obesity as the cause for T2 diabetes as well as blaming LDL for heart disease, the "experts" have been barking up the wrong tree all along. Hyperinsulinemia & IR as well as inflammation and oxidative stress continue to be ignored as the driving cause. For cancer the focus continues to be in gene mutations rather than the cause, which has been proven to be mitochondrial damage.

This made me cry and so indignant. I am literally heartbroken about how millions of people are being needlessly tormented and killed (the last straw that breaks the camel's back, in a long cancer-causing storyline). Please will the industry please correct standard care for cancer treatment and let people give the correct way a good chance. Like the deep brokenness in every other system (food systems, pollution, etc etc.), how did we even get into this mess? It seems that the further we come and more advanced we get the more of a mess we find ourselves in.

Amazing lecture. Gained incredible insights into metabolic functions of mitochondria and cancer cause mechanisms. Breast cancer rates increased 240% from 1970 according to NIH statistics. But still we cling to genetic origins for most cancer. Unfortunately the current standard of care is so embedded in the Pharma/ radiation / surgical methodologies there are tremendous economic forces that maintain the status quo. Mass media reporting is in many cases self censoring because of dependency on advertising revenue from Pharma and processed food manufacturers.

I am convinced that cancer is caused by our modern environment. Back in the early 1800's, the rate of cancer was about 1 out of 175 people. Now it's 1 in 3. What could cause such a huge increase in less than 200 years? It has to be something related to what we are putting in our bodies, and maybe something we are not doing now that we did back then, like not getting enough sun, something like that. Of course, diagnosis rates were less scientific, so that would account for a percentage, but probably not explain such a explosion of cancer. In ancient times, cancer was rare. I just read an article about that. As late as 1900, in the US, the rate in twenty large American cities was 49 per 100,000 for the period 1881-1885; for 1913 it had increased to 89 per 100,000. Now it's a lot closer to 5k per 100,000. Cancer has to be related to something we are eating, technology, or chemicals we come in contact with. These statistics in my mind basically prove that cancer is mainly a man made disease related to modern inventions, like synthetic foods, chemicals, etc. Humans are like any other animal. We evolved to eat natural foods, we always breast fed, never ingested any chemicals whatsoever. I believe the smart thing to do if you want to greatly reduce the risk of cancers of all kinds is to mimic the lives of our ancestors before modern times. Eat natural foods in their natural form. Exercise. Get plenty of sun. Reduce the ingestion of any chemical if possible including vegetable oils, medicines, pesticides, processed foods, food additives, etc. This stands to reason to reduce the probability that man made thing stay out of your body and never cause cancer.

I agree with Dr. Seyfried and I bought his textbook. (I was able to read only the first few opening an concluding paragraphs of each chapter which still did a world of good. But I found there was more to the story after reading Plague of Corruption by Dr. Judy Mikovits. It's not just glycated mitochondria but also vaccine piggyback retrovirus that are more plausible and causally upstream from the genetic theory.

How to put this into practice as do it yourself preventive (in my opinion): adopt a ketogenic diet which allows the cells to be fueled partly or mostly by fatty acids and ketones as nature intended. Not 100% by glucose which is forced by a diet of too much sugar and useless starches. There are no essential carbohydrates. Your liver makes all the glucose you need to regulate blood sugar levels.

Unfortunately this highlights the misinformation and totally misguided treatments for cancer. This man is a true hero and his goal is to save lives. You can’t say that about the establishment and profiteers in medicine. Sad but true. And it’s not just cancer that suffers from misinformation.

43:00 How do you get the standard view to change? Just ask the top researchers to do the experiment themselves some weekend. They have the ability to do nuclear and mitochondrial transfers in the lab. Nothing will be more convincing than if they do the experiments themselves.

I would love to see statistics on how successful the Australian "Free" healthcare is in actually making a dent in the increase of new cases as well as deaths/year similar to the chart at the beginning of the video. Tried googling myself but its a challenge to dig out similar info. Best I could find was we are worse off this year than 2016/18 so it appears to be total waste of tax payer money on ineffective treatments that do nothing for improving quality of life for those impacted.

The 'gradual' accumulation of random mutations in the DNA of somatic cells never made sense to me as a cause of cancer because of the prevalence of DNA-repair enzymes in the nucleus. How can these mutations accumulate adequately if they are regularly being detected and repaired?

I ask myself if the origin of cancer could be because of the consumption of fructose, that the cell is absorbing and the mitochondria cannot utilize it, so that it has to call for an instruction from the mitochondrial gens ,to fall back to a stage when we were apes, eating fruits. but something goes wrong in the cell. and it starts to become malignant.
