If you like compilations, you’d probably love to see one of his Hope On The Streets compilations. As a dancer myself, I can say that it’s super entertaining. The compilation is nice because you can see how he goes for different styles during each freestyle session. Sometimes it’s grooving, sometimes hip hop, sometimes popping/animation, etc.

@17:53 thats one of the dance practices they did for the lollapalooza performance. These people were Jhopes dancers in that performance. His latest 'hope on the street' freestyle sessions would be something to check out. He puts SO much time and effort into still getter better. Its very admirable. And Yes, he did popping originally. Thats like his main passion.

J Hope won National Championships and was known for his popping and locking years before he joined BTS, he started dancing when he was 9 and joined a street dance crew as the youngest member when he was around 12 and danced under the name Smile Hoya, he skipt classes to dance, slept in the studio because he couldn't take the bus home anymore. He wasn't a musician when he joined BTS, he got in because of his street cred and dancing skills. Here is a Compilation of dancing outside the BTS Stages, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbNmaqaXxN7FZKM.html&ab_channel=HopeWorld

If you haven't watched it yet, I think you'll find that the 3J Butter special performance behind the scenes video is a really good portrayal of how they work together. It's J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook filming and monitoring and filming again, and seriously - their dynamic is so incredibly healthy. They like each other, they respect each other, they joke around even when exhausted.

Jhopes main background is popping, locking. I heard him reference some boogaloo, king tut in "hiphop lover" Jhope used have a dance blog in bts early days. He used to talk about popping and locking. He has a lot of knowledge about dances specifically Street styles. I mean, he is a street dancer after all. I wonder if you have check his " hope on the street" dancing lives where he just freestyles for an hour or so. One of his best and most recent dance vlives. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kLZ4mMiVxsqmlIU.html He starts warming up to "I got 5 on it" at around 18:00

Well I do love more j-hope content can't deny that, and yes like you said he's the kind of leader that will poin out what you did right and compliment you first, and then he'll fix your mistakes and try to improve your overall performance. The last dance that you did know what it's from, it's dynamite tropical remix choreo, the one he performed on loolapaloza, so i guess it's recent-ish. Oh and yes, you asked at the end if he was a "popper", yes he was, he did popping and locking (he did hip hop as a whole, but focuced on popping and locking) for years before he joined bts and was super popular for it, he even won competitions on national level despite his young age.

Hey! I agree that it probably wasn’t the best compilation but I really liked hearing about your perspective since I don’t know anything about dance😅 There is a video I would love to hear your comments on. It’s called: “watch bts learn their dances” on Fandoms Unite’s channel (on KZfaq). It is a behind the scenes compilation video showing BTS in the studio learning and practicing their choreography and it’s really fascinating to watch. We see them dissecting the movements, helping each other learn. And even though I really like the video, I don’t know anything about dance, so it would be super interesting to hear what you have to say about their techniques or what they are trying to practice and stuff! Again thank you for your amazing videos, love your channel ☺️

Yeeees, great idea!!! 😍🤩 We’re basically asking for things that we don’t know 😂 because sometimes he comments things that has never crossed our minds or explains things that we had instinctively get a clue, but still don’t quite understand or can’t put into words. Plus, he’s a professional dancer with good ethics and responsibility, so it’s almost as if through sharing his point of view he can gives us a glimpse or an idea of what goes on through BTS’s minds, how learning and practicing might look like… better than the edited, carefully picked out short videos they give us… 😅 Which we love! But we know there’s a lot they don’t share or talk/show very little about, either because they don’t want to share the gruelling parts, because they might think there’s nothing interesting to us and that only the amazing/funny things can be presented or also because of the company’s policies/contracts or something like that… 🤷🏻‍♀️

5:33 behind the scenes: I recommend the BTS Episode of them preparing the special performance of Butter for the 2022 Grammies. Dancing over and under the lasers and especially the “jacket air guitar” sequence - just amazing how they managed to pull it off. Also, RM shaking his head over his jacket getting ripped up during practice lol.

I've hardly done any dancing, but some theatre - the feeling of having learned a performance to perfection, and then coming into a new venue and realize that the stage has a COMPLETELY different shape/layout/entrances+exits... 😆 There is ALWAYS something to adjust/polish JUST before the show. 😅 (Worst experience - performing a Christmas panto in various churches, some of which were huge, airy modern ones, some of which were super tiny medieval ones - we had to tailor the exits/entrances and blocking for every single performance on the spot. At least we didn't have to hit a beat in the music while doing it. 😉)

some of the last clips are from his lollapalooza practices, he filmed the videos here in America before lolla. Those videos are actually on BangtanTV! If you like watching freestyle, his "hope on the street" series which he has done over the years is all just freestyle. I loooove watching his freestyle! his most recent one has been posted on KZfaq. You'll know it from his blonde hair, cap and grey & brown LV outfit. he really does some amazing moves and his playlist is great.

Love your reactions, as someone with the flexibility of a wooden plank and the coordination of a baby deer, it's really interesting to hear a dancer's perspective! The video you were asking about near the end was his dance practice video in preparation for his solo performance at Lollapalooza, pretty fun to watch if you want to see more of him just dancing (clips of the entire performance itself are also on their youtube btw). A cool one to see how they handle dancing behind the scenes is one that had one or two clips in this compilation too, the behind the scenes of their Butter remix 3J dance break. In general, if you want to see footage of them preparing for performances, there's a lot of content like that on the BANGTANTV channel, where you also watch their dance practices. Most recently would be their Yet to come in Busan episode. More similar to this video, the fan channel SugArmyy has made an entire series of When Hobi switches to "dance teacher mode" compilation videos, where it just shows a bunch of clips of J-Hope leading their practices, helping other members learn the choreo and stuff, in the same vein as the clips in this video.

there are some great compilations out there for his work as the dance leader. He was actually on a similar show to Lisa as a mentor but he handled it differently because he only had a short time with them. Because of the limited time he gave them a few pointers but also was encouraging despite some of their mistakes. He knows when to push and when to encourage, it's really cool 💜

Yes, jhope has been a street dancer since he was 10 yrs old, and has won a national award. He has no bones! There are a couple of other compilations of him in Dance Instructor Mode. He Quickly learns the choreography from the choreograper, and then works with the members. (He learned to rap from RM and Suga, he had never done it before)

I like the way you talk about dancing with the group and what it is to be a leader. I know that I respond very well to the leadership style you describe - with challenge but also praise. I don't need anyone to yell at me to do my best - I'm already doing that - I just need help making my best better. I think that's true for BTS members as well. People sometimes say J-Hope looks scary when he's watching people dance. I think he looks focused - even when he's just watching someone else's performance, he's studying it. I love that look. But I can understand that having the focus aimed at you would be intimidating. My impression of him as dance leader has always been that he has high standards and expectations, but he's kind and patient. From what I've seen, Son Sungdeuk is similar - strict but not unkind. On I-Land I think we saw him get stern a few times, but he also acknowledged hard work and success. Clearly BTS thrives with that approach. I love what you say about hard work, by the way. These guys have all worked so hard, whether or not dance came easily to them. I have incredible respect for the weaker dancers in BTS - they've put in so much effort for so many years, even though however hard they work they'll always be compared to some of the best dancers in their entire industry. The worst dancer in BTS is a good dancer.

I like this video. I’ve often said I’d like to see the whole process from writing lyrics, to putting it to music, to learning the song and who sings what, to learning the choreography, to the final performance. In a shorter version, of course. I found a couple of EXO videos that showed them learning Tempo. A choreographer is there, but they seem to catch on quickly and take off w/o the choreographer. It’s funny how they disagree on certain movements and have to get the choreographer involved, or look at the practice tapes. I’d like to see more of these types of behind the scenes videos.

I also just found out that PD Bang would review their practice frame-by-frame to make sure everyone was hitting the right positions. If they weren't they had to do it over and over again until it was right. If this is how you've trained in your teens.. they are accustomed to this type of precision. Jimin and J-hope sees those little details that the other members aren't as aware.

I used to be a dancer and i can definitely tell you i was exactly like Hoseok ,especially when it came to teaching others. It would drive me nuts when there were some students who wouldn't take the lessons seriously,so i would be harsh but to a specific few individuals in the class because that's the only way they understood the assignment approximately 50% through.
