My name is Nick George with Clouds Diamond Sharpening. I sharpen on a diamond sharpening wheel (grandpa made the wheels shape and figured out how to use the diamond process. that's so fine at 1500 diamond grit, that polishes your blade sharp. I fix any clippers that have parts available. I can sharpen any blade or scissor that can come apart. I sharpen convex, semi convex, chunkers, thinning, fabric, surgical, and little scissor at a fair price.

So you didn’t really sell out to Nebraska did you? I own brand new CS-201. But am seeing so many things I love with ur wheel. Especially for beginners 1500 grit impregnated with diamonds and a slower moving wheel. Seem like less material is being taken off, as your running your blades for 10x times as long as u would for a Nebraska wheel. I really appreciate your knowledge. By far the best sharpener on KZfaq. Anyone who denies that doesn’t really know much about Clipper blade sharpening!!!!

Hi Nick. Thank you for these videos they are very informative. I am interested in learning how to sharpen like you. Where could I buy a wheel to start with? I know that it won't be as good as yours but something for me to start with and learn. I do like the idea of polishing blades instead of grinding them down.

Hello. Im glad you enjoy my videos. The machine i use is a family design that my grandpa and dad made with their sharpening friends. I do not sell them yet but ill let everyone know when they are available. I have not took any courses online because my grandpa done sharpening since i was little boy. Then i worked at an Andis, Oster, Wahl, Laube, Norelco, and Braun service center for 14 years, when i was 18 years old i started. Thanks for watching.

Would you recommend an Oster A5 with one or 2 speed motor as for strength and durability?

Oster have cheaper repairs than Andis. I don't really recommend clippers because I don't really know what you're looking for or what you are cutting . But Osters are strong and durable.

Ronald Alvarenga I had a mount made for the wheel i bought from a machinist or you can see if Nebraska blades sell mounts

I am new please what's the difference between polishing and grinding the blade

Polishing is indicative of a smoother finish as opposed to grinding. Generally speaking, grinding would be removing metal in general, but the finish your trying to achieve is determined by the coarseness of the medium used to grind /polish. The standard coarseness used when sharpening clipper blades can range from 180 to 240 grit. We use 1500 Diamond for specific applications, which produces a smoother (polished) finish.

Ronald Alvarenga mine is not flat and not available yet but you can look into Nebraska Blades wheels or Treyco wheels

It runs pretty slow. I'm not quite sure how much exactly because I sped it up a little from my grandfather's specs. I'm sorry I'm not able to distribute them at this time. Thank you for watching

+marcus05ish I do not because they only cost 13.99 new. I buy detachable blades only. I can sharpen trimming blades.

usually 24 hours from when i receive them. Then mail them back. I recommend having a backup set of clippers and blades, then when dull send them in and swap out because if i get to busy it could be longer. I do first come first serv.

Does Anyone know is there a perfect Arc Radius for hollow grinding Clipper Blades? Are both comb and cutter ground with the same hollow Arc Radius? And what is the Radius of the Arc?

I have a convex wheel. No arc or bevel. I cannot tell you what it is but Nebraska Blades does a nice bevel shape i used for a very long time.

Thank you, I wanted to make a Arc Backing Plate for a seamless Belt sander, and I didn't want to destroy my Blade and Comb Trying to figure out what the perfect Arc Radius is.

Np. Belt sander are convex for a knife but it wont work on a blade bc its not a radial pattern. but i do not know much about belt sanders. I wish you luck and thanks for watching

I Just Bought a Oster Model 10, I Think I will Buy a spare blade to experiment on, my old clipper is a Oster model -A2, and they don't make those anymore, are both comb and cutter ground on the same angel? Thank You.

On my wheel yes but alot of other sharpeners use one flat wheel and one beveled wheel. The belt will need to hollow out the middle of the blade and i dont see how it could but if it can it will work if you dont hollow it out to much. If you round the teeth at all it will not work.

Well, maybe you will scold me, Please talk about the geometry of the disc, is it flat? , is it concave?, is it convex? ,, also why you attach and detach the blades with the machine ON?, also are these blades for grooming animals? can human hair blades be treated the same way?

Hello. It is a convex pattern. You attach blades while it's running so it doesn't damage the commutator of the Armature or burn it with the brushes . plus the lever is moving so it engages the drive into the cutter blade. It's easier to start the motor with a blade unattached basically. I don't know if their animal or Barber blades in the video. Bc I haven't watched it., the only difference is the numbers in the sizes they all have the same measurements though. Except for a few special blades. Yes human hair blades can be treated the same as animal hair blades. Thanks for watching
