This trimmer is a modified Andis Outliner. In this video, I adjust the armature and tension fork. These adjustments need to be made throughout the life of the clipper and blade to make the blade travel 100% and hit the hardest, keeping those lines extra crisp!
Hi, my name is Nick George with Clouds Diamond Sharpening. I'm a professional technician who has been working on hair cutting tools and equipment for 20+ years. Most of my career was spent working as a technician at an authorized Andis, Oster, and Wahl service center. I specialize in hair clipper blade sharpening, scissor/shear sharpening, hair clipper repair and much more! My clipper blade sharpening process is unique as I have the ability to sharpen any hair clipper blade using actual diamond (1500 grit) on a machine that was designed and engineered by my Grandfather, providing a smoother, polished finish.

Great vid and channel! question...i notice the newer andis trimmers are lacking those 2 screws with the bolt. its two flushed screws now. how do you adjust the arm now?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 8 жыл бұрын
I have not seen a new one because they are all still in warranty. To be honest you can not even use those 2 screws and just use the nut to hold in place. The 2 screws just help but if they are gone now, they probably just rivet it on. Thanks for watching and i hope i answered your question correctly.

Just bought some blackout Andis T Outliners. Instead of the 2 screws at the bottom, they're flat rivets. To move the armature, you need to take those out. Any idea on how to take them out?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 7 жыл бұрын
Alan Q you shouldn't have to remove or adjust. I recommend sending back for warranty. but i adjust them with the center bolt.

I have a question, I have a regular grey T-Outliner and a GTX that I got sharpened and serviced. They were solid for a couple of weeks, then all of the sudden they seemed to loose a lot of power to the point where the blade isn’t even moving. I spray it down and oil it and runs really good with power for a little and then does the same thing? What’s the solutions for them? How long do outliners last, or do they ever get bad.
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

hello. It sounds like the blade is dull. Blades go dull and need to be resharpened or the trimmer needs to be readjusted. I recommend having multiple blades. The trimmer can always be fixed.

How did you solve the noisy problem? This trimmer works very very loud!
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 3 жыл бұрын
Adjust them with the with the ball of the fork at the upper part of the cutter. With 2 pounds of pressure and if that does not fix the noice it'll need to be sharpened to resurface it and put the correct pattern to insure it to cut correctly. Thank you watching

+Jessica Martin Thanks. Im glad you enjoyed. why did you have to adjust newly sharpened blades? It could be that your clippers tension is to loose to hold the blade together.
@jessicamartin4672
@jessicamartin4672 8 жыл бұрын
I had dropped them and chipped the blade so i got a new one, put it on and it wouldn't cut, finally got them to cut, but now they are just pulling pretty bad. I will try and tighten the tension. I also bagged it into the case, and bent the arms just a little like you showed. Thanks again! !
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 8 жыл бұрын
+Jessica Martin Alot of new blades are not very sharp. I call it factory sharp bc a machine sharpens them and where i once worked, customers buy new blades and then have me sharpen them out of the package. It could just simply need to be sharpened. Or when you dropped you might have bent something. Well good luck and hope i help you figure out your problem.

my t outliners would turn on, but after a while of using it, it turns off by itself. I would then let it sit for a while unplugged, and I'll give it a go and its up and running. But it does the same thing of shutting off by itself again while I use it, this gets me very upset because I don't know how to fix it and there is no tutorials to fix this on Google or KZfaq and I figured you were the perfect person to ask after watching this video.

if the tension spring was bent due to a fall, then bent back, is it still possible to adjust the clipper? or do you need to purchase a new tension spring
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

callmetagno you can adjust it if it's not broken. The spring is no longer available. So if the spring is broken you will have to order the armature.

I'm trying to decide between an Andis T-outliner VS. Andis superliner which one you choose for balding and line ups?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 6 жыл бұрын
Rio hello, the superliners have a rotary motor. That's good for power but there are no parts available. The blades of the super liner are on a guide that pivots so you can't adjust them with ease. The metal of the superliners blade is softer so it might not stay sharp as long. The outliners are adjusted easier and have all parts available thru the manufacturer. So I pick the Andis G Outliners for quality and parts availability But I'm also not a barber. I hope I helped and thanks for watching.

Cloud's Diamond Sharpening nice..thanx...I asked a barber and he said the same thing from a cosmetic stand point the Andis T outliner is better. @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 7 жыл бұрын
Isaiah Sims Hi. its probably BC your fork is bent. you will have to buy a new one or bend the fork pad up to be able to back the tension off. the flat part of the fork where the tension screw goes in needs to be bent up.

What about the newer GTX? They don't have screws to adjust the armature.
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 7 жыл бұрын
Poker Face you shouldn't need to adjust the armature but the middle bolt should adjust it. I usually never adjust an armature unless someone messes with it. unless it makes a rattle sound going into hair is the only reason to adjust it.

won't the corners of the blade cut client if you move arm too much too on side
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

+adrian haynes Yes it will. If the teeth go over the comb. This was an armature video Not fixing the tension fork, that is what it says in the description. Do you need to know how to adjust the blade?
@AdrianHaynes619
@AdrianHaynes619 8 жыл бұрын
+Cloud's Diamond Sharpening I was talking about the cutting blade if you move the arm to much one way the cutting blade won't be center with comb blade anymore cause cutting if you use the corner of the blade to go around the ear or neck area??
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 8 жыл бұрын
adrian haynes Yes it can if the cutter blade is too far over. You can loosen the blade screws and slide it over to where that cutter doesnt go over the comb. If you cant adjust it good enough by moving the blade then you will need to adjust the tension fork.
