Hey Chris I would go through all of Scotty's machine and check their Anti-Freeze, because all I ever see is people putting straight water into stuff, and it a few week things will start to get a lot colder, and you don't want cracked blocks or burst pipes... Leah dog will sort it 😄.

Great looking soldering job there. Actually it would be worth throwing a little tub of rosin flux in the toolbox for jobs like that. Makes the solder immediately bind to the pins and tracks. Scottys yard is like a maintenance vacuum, apart from the bits you do. I reckon as soon as a machine goes through the gates, every bit of grease and oil magically turns into muck and rust, the fuel tank fills with crap and the machine ages by 5 years! 😄

If you get some soldering flux it makes soldering so easy, dip the bit of wire into the flux you dont need loads and get so solder on the soldering iron touch the bit of wire with the soldering iron and the flux will suck the solder into the wire, then put a bit of flux on the soldered wire and the bit your going to solder the wire onto and it will make a nice clean connection, try and wipe the flux off after soldering it cleans best with electrical contact cleaner and old tooth brush other wise it gose bad in a couple of months if not cleaned abit

I work on forklifts, leave the transmission in, block it up and remove the engine, a lot easier. Seat and hood off, rad out, split em and lift the engine out.

Scotty needs to start charging them lads for breakdowns ! We've a young lad working for us, keeps breaking stuff, pulled the track off the digger this morning, he said it looked loose, but decided to carry on anyway, told him he's not getting paid for the three hours we were there replacing it cos if he'd spent 2 minutes pumping grease into it, it wouldn't have come off, but he's adamant it's never his fault ! His mum does everything for him, so he's never had to take responsibility for anything !

It's horrible getting shocks off them stick welders, a few years ago when i was working for a blacksmith we got the contract with the local council for repair of gully covers they would go out cleaning the storm drains and if any were snapped or cracked they would write them down on a list and give us the list once a month anyway we got to this drain cover and between the path and the kerb was a strip of grass so i got all the all set to weld it i was sat on the damp grass cleaning the crack out ready to weld the lad fired the welder generator up he handed me the handle and a welding rod and as i was inserting the rod into the handle he shot the earth onto the grass right next to me well the shock that went through me was out of this world I've had shocks off 240v 13A but that was nowt compared to this when i finally let go of the welding rod i was shaking for ages afterwards, i had the dial at about 350A with it being a ductile cover and very thick and couldn't preheat the cover and couldn't remove it so had to whack the amps up and was using cast rods.

Hi I wonder if that forklift engine has a crankcase breather filter on it and is it blocked pressurising the crankcase pushing oil out the seal it may be over full helping it go out the seal

that arm is scrap no amount of welding will fix that.. ANY Welding that penetrates enough will produce too much heat and weaken the rest of the arm it is scrap :) Scotty's place needs new Employess that treat machine's with some care... snapping that arm through smashing the bucket down on floor after being told not to, not Keeping Forklift clean after being told to.. and Ripping Forks to bits.. HOW ?? just HOW....lol
