That is so true, most of your professional anglers are not going to tell you everything or show you much, but a lot of the anglers are starting a you tube channel just because it looks good on paper, but hardly any of them stay on top of the channel, I know KZfaq pays pretty good once you get around 100k subscribers & 500k views, but to tell the truth the most channels I watch don't teach me anything, cause you may catch some on a certain lure or technique but don't mean I will, it's really comes down to selling for your sponsors & they don't care whether you catch anything or not so long as you buy their product & once you buy you can't return unless you didn't use, I've got enough baits that are no good that are worth a small fortune!👍

The sport has changed, in the beginning angler's would get some stickers for their trucks, hats, shirts, and tackle free to advertise for the companies. Social media then came around and the tackle companies discovered that they can get angler's to do their advertising for them on social media. The companies also discovered that their profits sored like never before. The companies have been slowly shifting away from the older angler's and to get the younger guys and gals to reel in the younger followers to buy their products.

I understand stand what you’re saying many people will do appreciate that and I very much do. It’s nice too have someone show you or “assist” lead you in a positive direction, and not be in a way selfish about keeping knowledge to one individual or groups. I think guys like Brian Latimer have realized this. He definitely has embraced the KZfaq and fishing school end of things because of the reasons you mentioned.

There’s a caveat in there, though. One that somewhat turns me off, and it’s those influencers and pros who are sponsored by Pure, Strike King, etc etc. Unfortunately, this includes you. Lol. I find it increasingly annoying that ONLY those products are pushed in videos etc. I also understand why, but I’d appreciate the alternatives mentioned. If contractually it’s not feasible,, then there’s nothing I can do about it, and just tune it out. B-Lat got snarky with me on a video of his when he introduced the Gremlin. I replied that it’s the same as a Brush Hog and I see no reason to purchase other than if I preferred Elaztech. Lol. Anyway, you’re an intelligent guy and I’m sure you understand my long in the tooth post. Be well, and prayers offered up for your daughter.
